❓Did you know that our under 16 boaters have restrictions?

👉 Only operate in daylight hours
👉 Not allowed to tow a skier, wakeboarder
👉 Under 10 knots unless accompanied by someone 16 or over who is fully licensed for the vessel type, in which case can travel up to 20 knots

The next gen are enthusiastic and capable boaters and with the right guidance and modelled behaviour the future of our waterways will be in good hands 🛟

Heading out on the open waters? Keep these tips in mind 👇

👀 Check your vessel - boats designed for enclosed waters may not handle large waves in open waters

🦺 Wear a lifejacket - the risk of ending up in the water is higher offshore or when crossing a coastal bar

🧰 Check your safety equipment - make sure its the right gear for open waters and in good condition

🌤️ Check the weather - conditions can change quickly

⚓ Watch for shallow areas - especially along the coastline

🐢 Keep a safe speed - slowdown in rough or choppy conditions.

📲 Keep in touch - log on/off with Marine Rescue and let someone know your plans

THEORY :
The Boating Licence Course is a presentation about boating safety and the boating rules, then do some revision and then conduct the NSW Boating Licence Exam in a relaxed and friendly environment. No other testing to complete. We do it all.
PRACTICAL :
Completed with us on our training vessel. On the same day(weather permitting).
No Logbooks to complete.

⚠️ Don't go overboard with the drink. When you’re on the water, alcohol affects your judgement, coordination, vision and balance, greatly increasing the risk of having an incident 😮

We work together with Marine Area Command - NSW Police Force to conduct random breath tests, ensuring everyone is operating safely.

Always stay under the 0.05 alcohol limit.

🦺 Always complete a pre-wear check of your lifejacket before you head out

✅ Check for no visible signs of wear and tear
✅ Check the cylinder is full, the auto cartridge is armed, and both are screwed in, hand tight
✅ Check the pull cord is clear and ready for use
✅ Retain receipts, note the date inside, and be ready to show the record if asked

🦺 Wear it. Check it. Service it. It's all about consistent care - nothing lasts forever, so be proactive with annual services.
