With all the excitement and atmosphere that comes with a BCL Grand Final, Wollongong Fury made their first appearance on the biggest stage against the competition's most successful side, the Randwick Raiders.

On a perfect day for cricket, Fury lost the toss and Randwick elected to bat first, looking to put scoreboard pressure on from the outset.

Randwick showed why they are multiple-time champions, racing to 1/83 after just 7.2 overs and maintaining a scoring rate of over 10 runs an over throughout the innings. Sami was Fury's best with the ball, finishing with 4/39 (3), and Shanawaz was only economical 0/25 (4), but the Raiders powered their way to an imposing 7/211 (20). Player of the Match Vetti led the charge with a blistering 51 (20).

Needing 212 to win, Fury attacked from the first ball. Ramim (20 off 13) and Afnan's outstanding unbeaten 73 (52) gave Fury genuine belief, before Abir added a quick-fire 24 (15). Two brilliant catches by Randwick swung the momentum back their way, but Man of the Tournament Zaied responded with a breathtaking 48 (18).

Zaied and Afnan shared a thrilling 84-run partnership in just seven overs, bringing Fury within sight of an incredible Grand Final victory. The crowd sensed an upset, but after Zaied's dismissal the fairytale fell just short. Fury fought until the final over, finishing on 6/199 (20), only 12 runs short.

Although the trophy went to Randwick, Wollongong Fury won the respect of everyone watching. In just their first year as a club, they reached the Grand Final of one of the most prestigious Bangladeshi community cricket competitions and pushed the tournament's greatest team all the way. Fury One Win Away from History!

Wollongong Fury are through to the BCL Grand Final after another thrilling victory, defeating the mighty Gladiators to set up a blockbuster clash with the Randwick Raiders.

Fury lost the toss and sent to field on a bright, sunny winter afternoon.

After losing the toss, Fury produced a superb bowling performance. An early wicket set the tone before Zaied 3/26 (4) and Sami 1/21 (4) kept the pressure on. Angan stole the show once again, claiming his fourth Player of the Match award in a row with a sensational 5/14 (4) as the Gladiators were dismissed for 111 in 19.2 overs.

Chasing 112, Fury were in early trouble at 3/7 after 2.3 overs, but Afnan 47 (56) held the innings together with a calm, mature knock. A quick 12 from 6 by Ramim shifted the momentum, before Zaied 32 (22) joined Afnan to guide Fury home. The pair added 39 runs in the final four overs, with Afnan finishing the match in style by launching a straight six in the final over.

Fury came out blazing, scoring quickly despite losing wickets at regular intervals. Angan set the tone with 19 (14), before Abir (27 off 31) and Afnan (11 off 11) steadied the innings. Abir then combined with Zaied, whose superb 63* (45) was a batting masterclass, to rebuild the innings. Zaied and Abir forged a crucial 55-run partnership that steadied the innings. Hifjur smashed 19* (11) late as Fury powered to a competitive 151/5.

SBT looked in control after an early 61-run partnership, but Fury turned the game on its head with five wickets for just 30 runs. Shanawaz (Game Changer) produced a match-defining spell of 2/26 (4), bowling brilliantly across both powerplays (4 overs out of 7 overs), while Angan claimed 3/22 (4) to earn his third consecutive Player of the Match award. Sami (1/21 off 3) and Shakib (1/26 off 4) held their nerve as SBT fought until the final delivery but Fury won by 5 runs.

In batting, Fury got off to the perfect start through Angan, whose brilliant 58 (37) continued his outstanding form. Well supported by Ramim (31), the pair laid the platform before late hitting from Hifjur (23 off 13) and Zaied (28 off 13) powered Fury to a strong 7/165.

In reply, Fury's fielding set the tone, applying pressure from the outset while the Chargers missed crucial opportunities.
