Conte comigo sempre.

Abraço e muito sucesso — hoje e sempre. 🙏📚🧠🧩

🧠 “It’s not complicated. You need to be aware that the dosage of various treatments is often variable and partly requires specificity.
What to evaluate?

• Presence or absence of peripheral and central sensitisation;

• Integrity of the Diffuse Noxious Inhibitory Control (DNIC) and presence of Temporal Summation;

• Patient report or clinical finding of hypersensitivity (hyperalgesia and allodynia to movement, thermal, or mechanical stimuli);

• Probability of the patient habituating or sensitising when exposing the painful body segment to movement.

🧩 Based on the 4 topics above, it seems possible to better adjust the movement and/or exercise dosage and minimise the likelihood of prescription errors.

🧠 In summary, treating pain with movement and exercise is not the same as merely moving and exercising the area that hurts. Just as pain and injury are not synonymous, treating people with pain through movement does not initially mean that you need to move only the area that hurts. It’s important to consider the intensity and frequency of peripheral stimuli, two essential variables for pain treatment. Not everyone habituates; some may become sensitised by introducing stimuli.”

🧩Visceral dysfunctions are associated with a range of symptoms and pathologies, not limited to the viscera themselves.

One example is how restrictions within the viscera can affect movement, altering and even limiting the way a person moves. In some cases, these movement changes—triggered by restrictions in the visceral system—can lead to altered perception and provoke pain.
Working in cooperation with the body’s self-correcting mechanisms provides it with the necessary conditions to promote improvement.

🧠Performing the CORRECT exercises is regarded as an effective means of PREVENTING visceral dysfunctions.

🧠🧩Yes, a herniated disc can regress! It may seem hard to believe, particularly when the pain is severe, but the vast majority of herniated disc cases resolve without surgery. Scientific studies show that over 90% of episodes improve solely with conservative treatment—without the need for surgery.That’s right: with appropriate guidance, patience, and suitable treatment, herniated discs regress in most cases—offering a simpler, healthier, safer, and more cost-effective path to recovery.A study published in 2015 examined individuals who underwent only conservative management and found the following rates of herniation regression:- Sequestered herniation: 96% regressed- Extruded herniation: 70% regressed - Disc protrusion (not a hernia): 41% regressed - Disc bulge (not a hernia): 13% regressedAnd regarding complete regression of the herniation:- Sequestered herniation: 43%- Extruded herniation: 15%*✨The image above is of a patient treated by myself, further confirming in practice what the science already demonstrates.*✨Source: Chiu CC et al., 2015, Clinical Rehabilitation.

🧩🧠Chronic musculoskeletal pain is a complex condition requiring a multifaceted approach, integrating neuroscience, physiotherapy, orthopaedics, rheumatology, and exercise physiology. Each of these disciplines focuses on aspects such as neural effects, movement mechanics, tissue structure, and inflammation. Interdisciplinary research is essential for creating comprehensive treatments, and Manual Therapies (when applied knowledgeably) play a crucial role in this context. Their techniques integrate brain function with the body by enhancing communication between the central nervous system and tissues, promoting neuromuscular harmony and optimising bodily function. This provides a comprehensive understanding of musculoskeletal pain and aids in developing more effective treatment approaches, including personalised exercises.📍Book an appointment with experts who master the multi-faceted approach! https://innova-performance.au2.cliniko.com/bookings?business_id=643821375600990770&practitioner_id=1422014160060816295
