Finished cutting out the veneer letters and number for the boat type and registration no. The black is just the printer paper which will sand off when letters are inset to the deck. Next job is set up the Dremel router to cut into the deck to inlay the letters and numbers.

Finished adding strips to deck, sanding started. Next job is to insert the name and registration no, into the deck.

So disaster struck, I completed the timber work on the hull and started the sanding, unfortunately I got a bit carried away and sanded through in one spot. So that hull was ripped off the building frame and and thrown in the bin. Not good enough and not happy. So I have started again!

It’s time to get back to building a timber IOM for myself. I purchased 2 licences over a year ago but have been busy making the AKAs since then. I have cut up and shaped small pieces of strip which I glue together to create what I call a feature strip which have been a signature effect on the last 4 ‘woodies’ i have made.
