This past Saturday, we held the second round of our Juniors Champions Cup.
The Champions Cup provides our athletes with an opportunity to showcase their skills in a competitive environment in front of family and friends. It is always fantastic to see the courage they display when stepping onto the mat.
For the children in our Juniors squad, and the invited P*e Wees, the event is about far more than winning. It is an opportunity to demonstrate their skills, teamwork, camaraderie, resilience, and sportsmanship.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is one of the most challenging martial arts in the world. There are no shortcuts, and success is never guaranteed. Every athlete enters the competition wanting to win, but not everyone will have their hand raised at the end of the match. Learning to handle disappointment, identify areas for improvement, and return to training with a positive attitude is where some of the most valuable lessons are learned.
We are very fortunate to have Burger Urge Wodonga as a long-term sponsor, providing awards for our Under 16 athletes.
This round's awards were presented to:
Match of the Mat
• Mat One: Sonny and Evanna
• Mat Two: Ollie and Benji
Most Technical Athletes
• Finn S
• Hunter
We also celebrated the promotion of four athletes from White Belt to Yellow/White Belt:
- George
- Elliot
- Ollie
- Henry
Congratulations to every athlete who stepped onto the mat. Your improvement, determination, and support of one another continue to make us proud.
A very special thank you to Greg Dean and the team at Burger Urge Wodonga for their ongoing support of our Under 16 programs.
We lead, others follow!
