Not all programs are trying to achieve the same thing.
Some are designed to help people get fit.
Some are designed to teach people how to fight.
Neither is wrong, but they are very different.
At AWMA, we train kickboxing as a combat sport. That means learning timing, distance, defence, ringcraft, partner drills, controlled sparring, and the skills needed to perform under pressure. Not just hitting a bag.
And it needs to work. We have far too many students regularly competing for it not to.
Fitness comes with the territory, but it isn’t the primary objective.
If you want a workout, there are plenty of options.
If you want to become a kickboxer, train somewhere that produces kickboxers.
We’re now taking students in all of our Kickboxing classes. Drop in for a FREE trial class!
