For all Sunshine Coast Rugby Lovers…Free at Sunshine Coast Stadium, starting tomorrow..u20 Rugby Championship.

The Rugby Championship Under-20, to be played at the Sunshine Coast Stadium, Bokarina on Australia’s eastern seaboard, kicks-off on Thursday 2 May.

Hi Community, and parents of both boys and girls!

E.O.I.

My son is 8 years old and is wanting to play 'Rugby union' but due to low numbers in the past Maleny Bush Rangers no longer has a junior team for his age bracket.
I have spoken to Tony the president/founder of the club and if 'we' can get the numbers for this age group he will put it forward to the union and if successful maybe able to create an under 9s team for 2024. (Child turning 9 in 2024). I haven't got any further info at this stage apart from training would likely start in February/March this may include upto 2 training afternoons subject to discussion and a Saturday game (furtherest game in noosa). Also maybe able to come together and work out a car pool senario for away games. Please let me know if your child maybe interested in joining (Girls and Boys).

Today at 1 pm at the Witta Rec Club we will be celebrating the life of our friend Robbie Palmer.

Those with any association with the Bushrangers will have the opportunity, at the end of the service to form a Guard of Honour/(tunnel in rugby language) and make the Bushrangers War cry ring out one more time for Robbie as he leaves the service.

Remember to wear your blue and green or a Bushrangers shirt if you can.

The details of Robbie’s service, a celebration of his life, are now available. It would be a touch I’m sure Robbie would appreciate very much if all those previously associated with Maleny Bushrangers and knew Robbie come wearing a Bushrangers shirt, jersey or colours. Very fitting that it will be held at our home grounds, he cleaned up after us all so many times, we can do it for him this time. Vale Robbie.

With enormous sadness we recognise the passing of Robbie Palmer on Tuesday 28th March due to illness. To those of you whom Robbie coached at the Bushrangers,the shock and loss will be deep and we are together in that grief.
Robbie supported, encouraged, invested his time and guided a good many Bushrangers and he had an unswerving faith in all. For all supporters and parents,
He cooked much of the hot food enjoyed on Saturdays, helped set up the field for play on a Friday afternoon/night and aswell as the gameday and spent countless hours administering and raising funds for Our Rugby club.
Many of you will have close contact with his beautiful family, Angela, Lachie, Dom and Seb aka Snaz and I'm sure we can count on your expression of warmth and support in our finest Bushranger manner.
R.I.P Robbie The Glassman, if there were a Bushrangers hall of fame, he'd be amongst the original inductees.

Great things come from a BUSHRANGER. Congratulations to DYLAN LINNANE
Although this year Maleny Junior Bushrangers are taking a break, we would like to recognise a former junior who started playing at the age of 5 for the Bushrangers. Dylan is completing yr. 12 this year and is also an avid referee for SCJRU and QRRA. He has now been selected as one of the 10 Queenslanders who were named as part of the 2021 School Student Scholarship, (SSS) program recognising the work of promising school-aged match officials)
Congratulations Dylan and all the best from the Maleny Bushrangers

The year that was, when Covid-19 hit, it pretty much wiped out the Bushrangers. But with keen dedication from some under 10 boys we are able to combine with Nambour Toads (this was the Toads first season back into the comp in 10 years) 7 Maleny boys and 8 Nambour (soccer playing) kids joined forces to learn, grow and develop together. Coach Luke has been amazing, patient and very proud of all the kids. We call ourselves the BushToads, with 50/50 jerseys only loosing 3 games out of 12 all season. Great effort guys, the rugby stays alive in you. A huge thanks to APEX Maleny for sponsoring us, and Sunshine Mitre 10.

Rugby is back, congratulations to the U17 girls on their first 2 games of the season Friday night, they played well and were very competitive. MALENY hosted the night at Witta, the fields were perfect, great work Tony. Saturday the joint team Maleny/Nambour aka Bush Toads played their second game of the season, and came away with a convincing win, well done boys they all played well and starting to jell as a team.
