💥Turning energy into athletic skills, confidence, and resilience🙌

Our Youth Program has officially kicked off — and we have a full house!

Yesterday we also completed our fitness testing, and the kids absolutely smashed it with some awesome results and great effort across the board!!

Big energy, great attitudes, and plenty of hard work ahead.

We are excited to watch these young athletes grow stronger, faster, and more confident this term 💪🚀

Huge shoutout to one of our Youth Program athletes - Slater, who recently competed at National level in U12 Discus and brought home 🥇 GOLD!

This result isn't just luck - it is a reflection of his years of dedication to the sport, consistent training, and commitment to refining his technique!

Slater has only been apart of our Youth program for the last 2 Terms, but we are excited to see what he can achieve with continued strength, power, and movement skills—all of which help to transfer directly into his throwing performance.

Starting April 26th

Give your child the opportunity to build strength, confidence, coordination & athletic skills in a fun and supportive environment.

8 Week Program
✅ Mondays & Thursdays 430-530pm
✅ Choose 1 or 2 days per week
✅ Designed for ages 9–13yo

➡️Want to know how to actually get BETTER… by doing less?

It’s called structured recovery — and it’s not optional if you want real results (hello gains!)

As a coach, I see it all the time… Women training hard, showing up consistently, ticking all the boxes — yet progress stalls.

It’s not a motivation issue.
It’s not even a consistency issue.
👉 It’s a recovery problem.

We’ve been conditioned to think “more is better”… but physiology says otherwise.

Here’s what the science tells us:
▪️Muscle isn’t built during training — it’s built during recovery.
Training creates micro-tears, but repair + growth happens after.
▪️Research shows that planned deloads or time off can restore performance, reduce fatigue, and improve strength adaptations (especially after 10–12 weeks of progressive overload).
▪️Chronic high-intensity training without breaks can elevate cortisol (stress hormone), increase injury risk, and actually blunt muscle growth and strength gains.
▪️Studies on resistance training show that short breaks (1–3 weeks) don’t cause loss of progress — and can even lead to a “rebound effect” where performance improves after rest.

👉 In simple terms:
You don’t get weaker from smart rest — you come back stronger.

This is why we program in cycles.
10–12 weeks of focused, progressive training = stimulus 💥

Followed by intentional recovery = adaptation + growth 📈

Right now, after our latest training block, my clients are stepping away from heavy lifting and shifting into more lower impact work, mobility, and recovery-based sessions.

And no — they’re not “losing progress”…
They’re setting themselves up for their next level!!

Strength in your 50s and beyond doesn’t have to look like slowing down…

It could look like showing up, getting stronger, and proving that age is NOT a limitation 💪

So many women believe that muscle loss, stiffness, and weakness are just a “normal” part of ageing… but the science tells us otherwise:

➡️ From your 30s onwards, we naturally begin to lose muscle mass (known as sarcopenia)… BUT resistance training can significantly slow — and even reverse — this process.

➡️ Lifting weights helps maintain and build lean muscle, which supports metabolism, bone density, and joint health.

➡️ Strength training improves functional range of motion — meaning everyday movements like bending, lifting, reaching, and getting up off the floor stay easier and pain-free.

➡️ It also reduces the risk of falls and injuries, keeping you independent and confident as you age.

Baby steps is what it's all about...

Postpartum isn’t about “bouncing back”… it’s about building forward (in fact I absolutely hate the term bounce back!)

Returning to training after having a baby can feel overwhelming — but the key is simple:
➡️ Start small
➡️ Build slowly
➡️ Stay consistent
Your body has been through a LOT… and it deserves the time and strategy to recover properly.

Here’s what the science says:
✔️ Strength training postpartum helps restore core and pelvic floor function
✔️ Improves muscle strength and stability, reducing risk of injury
✔️ Supports bone density (especially important after pregnancy + breastfeeding)
✔️ Boosts mental health, reducing symptoms of postpartum depression and anxiety
✔️ Helps rebuild functional strength for everyday mum life (lifting, carrying, getting up off the floor)

BUT… it’s not about going hard straight away.
It’s about rebuilding your foundation first — breathing, control, alignment — THEN layering strength on top.

🏆Time to celebrate the wins and look back at how far we have come!!

When Tracey Tyers first started, she had never lifted weights before, she’d been told she couldn’t squat, and even sitting down and standing up on a chair without assistance was a challenge.

Fast forward to now…
She’s squatting with some weight, moving with confidence, and showing fantastic posture every rep 🔥

That’s not just “gym progress”…
That’s life-changing strength.
This is why we train.

Next intake for my StrongHer Program Kicks off on 20th April!

6 months ago, Aimee came in dealing with lower back issues, weak hip stabilizers, and knee pain.

Instead of avoiding training… she leaned into it — with the right plan, the right progressions, and consistency every single week.

Fast forward to now…
▪️She’s gone from bodyweight hip thrusts 👉 to 90kg for reps — gaining strength and muscle to help stabilise her hips.

▪️Has built up more muscle surrounding her knees to help with knee stability and pain free movement,

▪️Has built up core strength to help take the load off of her lower back,

▪️And has built some amazing upper body strength any woman would be proud of!
