Margaret River Polocrosse Club Polocrosse club based in the South West of Western Australia. Polocrosse is an exciting team horse sport, developed in Australia. we think so anyway!

Margaret River Polocrosse Club is one of the oldest sporting clubs in the south west. Esablished in 1950 members from Bunbury were invited to showcase the sport to local riders and with 6 players, including Brian Garstone and Cliff Furniss, finally getting the hang of it less than 12 months later travelled to Kojonup and won the B grade cup! During the 1970's and 1980's the club experienced a gold

en era with the A grade side winning every tournament they went to in 1984 and in 1986 won the Yeenyellup A grade cup at Kojonup for the 6th consecutive time. A record that has not yet been beaten . . . The 1990's saw a huge decline in member numbers with many retiring, moving away etc and some of the good horses also retired. In 2000 the 50th anniversary was held with huge success with the club slapping together an A grade side and fought Kojonup for the cup . . . a bit of old rivalry you might say! Margaret river defeated Kojonup by 6 goals. In 2003 the Irish team visited and the club held exhibition matches. After 2003 nearly all members had left and retired with Marina Davis being the only member until 2008 when the club was restarted again. In 2010 the club celebrated its 60th anniversary with success. With some fresh members the club is finaly finding some strength again and you never know a Margaret River A grade side might be on the cards in the future. In 2020 the club celebrated its 70th Anniversary with a successful September Carnival!
