Hughenden 7’s 🏉🪿
Saturday just gone the 25th of July 2026 saw the Geese head over to Hughenden for the towns annual 7’s competition. This event is always marked on the Geese calendar every year as it is a great weekend of footy and socialising and the boys are always keen for it.
Friday afternoon most of the team knocked off work, loaded the cars up and headed out to Hughenden to arrive in time for the meet and greet and Calcutta to scope out the other teams and polish off a few coldies before the big day that Saturday was.
Saturday morning the rest of the team rolled into town fresh and ready to go while our meet and greeters were just polishing off the last cans in the cartons and were ready to go with no sleep and running purely off gold cans and hard rated.
As the day went on the hangovers and lack of sleep caught up to a couple of us and by the time game 3 came around we had 7 Geese standing just enough to field a team for the last game we didn’t come away with a win this carnival but I’m sure we all had a ripper time and we will be back next year better than ever.
