๐ŸŽฏ SWSDL Round 10 ๐ŸŽฏ

Another big week of comp darts is upon us, and this round features the next chapter of The Rex Cup! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ”ฅ

In the Menโ€™s Div 3, the local derby returns to the Royal Exchange Hotel, with Rex #2 taking on Windsor Bowls #2 and another shot at bringing the silverware home.
Three Rex Cup battles have been fought so far, and The Rex are still waiting to get their hands on the Cup. But could this be the night the tide finally turns?

The form guide certainly makes things interestingโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ‘€
Bowls #2: two losses on the trot ๐Ÿ“‰
Rex #2: two wins on the trot ๐Ÿ“ˆ
Form can go out the window in a local derby, though. Same town. Same passion. Bigger rivalry. Who takes the bragging rights this time? ๐Ÿ†

In Menโ€™s Division 1, Windsor Bowls #1 host ladder leaders Wenty Leagues. Wenty have opened up a 7-point lead, so this is a big opportunity for the Bowls to take a bite out of that advantage and tighten things up at the top.
Meanwhile, Rex #1 head to Riverstone to face Riverstone #3 in what is shaping as a must-win encounter. If we want to push our way back into finals contention, this is exactly the sort of match we need to bank.

Then on Wednesday night, our Mixed team hosts St Marys Leagues at the Royal Exchange Hotel. The team continues to improve as the season progresses and will be looking to turn that improvement into another strong result.

Plenty riding on Round 10 โ€” ladder positions, finals hopes, local bragging rights... and, of course, a shiny silver Cup! ๐Ÿ†๐ŸŽฏ

Good luck to all five Hawkesbury teams โ€” letโ€™s make Round 10 a big one! ๐Ÿฆ…๐ŸŽฏ

๐ŸŽฏ Thursday Night Round 10 Wrap-Up ๐ŸŽฏ

Another cracking turnout at Thursday Night Darts, with 34 players joining us for Round 10 โ€” including three new faces in Meg, Nathan and Cooper. Welcome aboard!

Jeff R was the star of the night, producing a massive 31% improvement on his season average and knocking in 4 pegs along the way!

Jeff, along with Ian A (+11%), have both shown what playing in our Thursday events are doing for their darts. The improvement is showing up in the numbers, but more importantly, you can see it just by watching them throw. The confidence, consistency and overall game are coming along nicely. Well done, guys! ๐Ÿ‘

Otherwise our Rex #1 Monday night comp crew Byrnesy, Fergal and Jack were up between 11% and 16% above their season averages, for which they have formally agreed that this form will carry over to Monday night compโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ”ฅ Justin filled up the stat sheet, topping the night for:
โ€ข Highest Average
โ€ข Highest Peg
โ€ข Most 80+ scores
โ€ข Most 100+ scores
โ€ข Most 130+ scores
A fairly comprehensive performanceโ€ฆBUT Sam T walked away with the much coveted Most 26s prize!

As for the overall result, it couldn't have been much tighter.
It all came down to the final match of the night, with Justin & Sean getting the job done when it counted, securing the points they needed to win Round 10!
๐Ÿฅ‡ Winners: Justin & Sean
๐Ÿฅˆ Runners-Up: Andrew B & Alyssa

And finally, Byrnesy picked up the Lucky Door Prize!

Another fantastic Thursday night.

Well done everyone โ€” see you all next Thursday! ๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿป

๐ŸŽฏ SWSDL Round 9 Wrap-Up ๐ŸŽฏ

Round 9 delivered 6โ€“5 results in Division 3, while our Mixed team continued its run against some of the competitionโ€™s toughest opponents.

๐ŸŸข DIVISION 3
Both of our Div 3 teams went into the night with something to prove โ€” albeit for slightly different reasons.
After breaking through for their first win of the season last week, Rex #2 wanted to prove it was no one-off and make it back-to-back victories.
Bowls #2, meanwhile, were looking to bounce back after last weekโ€™s loss and get themselves back on track.
Neither had an easy assignment. Bowls #2 faced ladder leaders Merrylands, while Rex #2 took on 3rd-placed St Marys Leagues.
Both matches finished 6โ€“5.
Unfortunately, only one went our way!

๐Ÿ”ฅ Rex #2 โ€“ BACK-TO-BACK!!!
The Teams and Pairs matches were tightly contested, with Rex #2 taking three of the opening five to grab a crucial 3โ€“2 advantage heading into the singles.
Among the highlights was Sledgy opening his Pairs game with a 180!
But St Marys werenโ€™t going anywhere.
Some missed chances allowed them to take the opening two Singles matches and suddenly the momentum โ€” and the pressure โ€” had swung their way.
Sledgy and Jake were having none of it.
Both powered through their Singles in straight legs, putting Rex #2 within touching distance of victory and leaving Sam and Shan to try to see it home.
Sam couldnโ€™t quite get his match over the line, meaning it all came down to Shan in the final Singles.
And this one tested the nerves!
Despite his opponent having seven visits at a checkout, Shan kept his cool, waited for his opportunity and โ€” when it came โ€” nailed the double to seal a 6โ€“5 victory!
Thatโ€™s BACK-TO-BACK WINS for Rex #2!
After waiting so long for the first one, theyโ€™ve apparently decided winning is more fun!

๐ŸŸข Bowls #2 โ€“ So Close Against the Leaders
Bowls #2 faced an early onslaught from ladder-leading Merrylands.
With only two wins from the opening eight matches, the night certainly hadnโ€™t gone according to plan.
Our scoring power deserted us early โ€” and when it returned during the Singles, unfortunately our direction on the doubles disappeared instead!
There were opportunities in each of those losses, but the damage had been done.
At 2โ€“6 down, however, Cam, Brian and Cooper certainly werenโ€™t ready to call it a night.
In fact, thatโ€™s when the afterburners came on.

After a slow opening leg, Cam fought back to win his Singles, including an excellent 23-dart leg.
Then Brian followed suit, taking his match with legs of 25 and 33 darts.
Finally, Cooper capped off the night in style, producing outstanding 23 and 20-dart legs, with a 180 thrown in for good measure!
Three straight Singles victories dragged the final score back to 5โ€“6.
A loss on paper, but plenty of positives against the competition leaders.
We finished with 10 x Ton+ scores and five players averaging 40+, including two averaging 55+.
Weโ€™re right there with the best teams in the competition. Itโ€™s now about taking those small opportunities when they arrive โ€” because theyโ€™re the moments that turn a 5โ€“6 loss into a 6โ€“5 winโ€ฆ or better.

๐ŸŸฃ MIXED โ€“ Tough Run Continues
Our Wednesday night Mixed teamโ€™s tough run of opponents continued, this time facing 2nd-placed Riverstone #4.
The Teams matches were split one apiece, but Riverstone took control through the Pairs, winning all three.
Then came the Singles โ€” and Selina decided to put on a show.
She produced arguably her best game of the competition so far, winning her match in straight legs and throwing a 101 plus another three 60+ scores along the way.
And, perhaps most importantly, there were minimal visits at doubles! Mick and Jack will apparently be booking some lessons with Selina to learn a thing or two before next weekโ€ฆ

Fiona and Alyssa both took the opening leg of their Singles matches but unfortunately couldnโ€™t hold on for the win.
That left Max as the final player of the night, looking to add a little more respectability to the scoreboard.
In a quality contest from both players, Max was ice-cold when the opportunities arrived.
A single-dart 32 checkout sealed the second leg before he finished the job with a three-dart 60 checkout in the decider.
Clinical finishing under pressure to close out the night.

Plenty of positives again across all three teams โ€” and Rex #2 suddenly have themselves a winning streak!

Onto Round 10 where itโ€™ll get even bigger - which includes the Div 3 Derby!!! Will Rex #2 make it 3 in a row, or will the Bowls #2 end their losses against their close rivals.

The spotlight was firmly on the local derby this week as ๐—ฅ๐—ผ๐˜†๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—˜๐˜…๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ #๐Ÿญ and ๐—ช๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐˜€๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—•๐—ผ๐˜„๐—น๐˜€ #๐Ÿญ squared off for pride and bragging rights.

After a splitting the opening teams 1-1, it was on to the doubles. ๐—Ÿ๐˜‚๐—ธ๐—ฒ and ๐—–๐—ต๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜€ made short work of their match 2-0 for The REX, but ๐—๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป and ๐—๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ๐˜† answered right back with a 2-0 win of their own. ๐—š๐—ฒ๐—ผ๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ผ and ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ธ๐˜€๐˜† then held their nerve in a tense match against ๐——๐˜‚๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฒ and ๐—š๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ฑ ๐—š๐—ฒ๐—ผ๐—ณ๐—ณ to give the Bowls a 3-2 edge heading into the singles.

The Bowls quickly tightened their grip on The Cup. ๐—š๐—ฒ๐—ผ๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ผ took two straight against ๐——๐˜‚๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฒ, while ๐—๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป handled the outer-ring pressure against ๐—–๐—ต๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜€ to put the Bowls on the brink at 5-2.

The REX werenโ€™t rolling over, though.

In-form heavy hitters ๐—Ÿ๐˜‚๐—ธ๐—ฒ and ๐—–๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ด sparked the comeback. ๐—Ÿ๐˜‚๐—ธ๐—ฒ fired up the afterburners for a 2-0 win, while ๐—–๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ด dug deep to battle past ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ธ๐˜€๐˜† in a deciding leg with a blistering 21-darter of his own - the 5th 21-dart x01 leg (71.5 avg) of the night!

Suddenly, it was 5-4.

With the comeback alive, ๐— ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ธ and ๐—™๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐—น renewed their rivalry in the penultimate clash. ๐— ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ธ stepped up when it mattered most - under pressure pe***ng a 115 checkout (T19, 18, D20) for the highest peg of the night, before slotting another clutch three-dart finish ๐˜๐—ผ ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น ๐˜„๐—ถ๐—ป ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—•๐—ผ๐˜„๐—น๐˜€!

๐—š๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ฑ ๐—š๐—ฒ๐—ผ๐—ณ๐—ณ pinched the final match for The REX to make the final score Windsor Bowls 6 def The Royal Exchange 5.

๐— ๐—ฉ๐—ฃ ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜€ went to ๐— ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ธ for his ice-cool finishing under pressure, becoming the fifth unique MVP recipient between these teams.

Another fantastic turnout on Thursday night, with ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ hitting the oche. We were also pleased to welcome Cameron F. for his first night with us. You threw really well, Cameron, and we hope to see you back again next week!

The night came down to a thrilling ๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐ž๐ž-๐ฐ๐š๐ฒ ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ๐จ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ to decide the winners. However, with play-offs being equal darts, Team Andrew/Jack responded by cleaning up their remaining 60 with a classy 2-dart finish to sn**ch the nightly honours.

There was no shortage of highlights throughout the night. Craig managed to smash ๐ญ๐ฐ๐จ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ–๐ŸŽ๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐š ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐ž ๐ ๐š๐ฆ๐ž... and still ended up on the losing side! Darts can be a cruel game. We also saw some quality finishing, including Justin's 100 checkout and Ashlea's 49 that got everyone cheering.

Several players produced performances well above their season average. Jon V., Andrew B., Ted and Craig G. all finished the night 20%+ above their season averages, while Ashlea G., Amanda B., Geoffro and Justin were all 10%+ above their season averages. Leading the charge once again was Justin, who topped the averages with an impressive 25.4 (76.3 three-dart average).

And finally, the prizes everyone was really chasing...

Round 8 saw three wins and two losses for Hawkesbury Darts, including a big milestone for Rex #2!!

๐ƒ๐ˆ๐•๐ˆ๐’๐ˆ๐Ž๐ ๐Ÿ
Looking to close the gap on top spot, ๐๐จ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ฌ #๐Ÿ produced a strong 8โ€“3 win over Kemps Creek. Unfortunately, ladder leaders Wenty also recorded an 8โ€“3 victory, meaning the three-point gap between first and second remains.

๐‘๐ž๐ฑ #๐Ÿ flew out of the blocks, racing to a 4โ€“0 lead before the wheels wobbled, dropping the next four games to leave the match locked at 4โ€“4. With the pressure on, Jason and Chris stepped up to win their singles, securing a hard-fought 6โ€“5 victory.

๐ƒ๐ˆ๐•๐ˆ๐’๐ˆ๐Ž๐ ๐Ÿ‘
The monkey is finally off the back for ๐‘๐ž๐ฑ #๐Ÿ! ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŽฏ
Their first win of the season certainly didnโ€™t come easily. Trailing 2โ€“5, the team needed something special โ€“ and delivered, winning all four remaining singles to storm home for a much-deserved 6โ€“5 victory over Mt Druitt #1. Hopefully, thatโ€™s the confidence boost needed to kick-start the back half of their season.

๐๐จ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ฌ #๐Ÿ had a slow start, dropping both Teams games โ€“ something that ultimately proved costly. They recovered to win two of the three Pairs and split the Singles 3โ€“3, but the early deficit was too much to overcome. Despite the loss, Bowls #2 remain comfortably in second place.

๐Œ๐ˆ๐—๐„๐ƒ
Facing competition leaders Northmead, ๐‘๐ž๐ฑ #๐Ÿ’ missed out in the Teams before bouncing back strongly to win two of the three Pairs.
Unfortunately, the Singles proved much tougher, with the team managing just one win from the six games. There were plenty of really good moments from every player throughout the night, and the final score probably doesnโ€™t fairly reflect how competitive many of the games were.
