Today Windang Pelicans JRLFC played in honour of a beautiful young girls memory after her sudden passing last week. Today we remembered Alisha and in her memory all fixtures retired the #3 jersey for today. Leanne your beautiful girl watches over us all today as we played for her.

🚨 IMPORTANT SAFETY UPDATE: NEW TACKLE & LIFTING RULES 🚨
Player safety comes first. Effective immediately, strict rules regarding dangerous lifting tackles are in place across all matches:
🚫 ZERO TOLERANCE ON LIFTING (Ages 6s–15s)
Call "HELD" immediately: If a defender lifts even one leg or foot of the ball carrier, the tackle must be called "HELD" straight away to stop the play before it becomes dangerous.
Penalty: If the defender continues to lift or places the player in a dangerous position, a penalty will be awarded immediately.
⚠️ WHAT CONSTITUTES A DANGEROUS TACKLE?
A tackle is considered dangerous if the ball carrier:
• Is lifted past horizontal
• Lands hard/with force on the ground
• Lands on their shoulder or head
• Is placed in a position where they could land on their shoulder or head
⛔ STRICT PENALTIES FOR DANGEROUS LIFTING
U6s–U12s: The offending player must be replaced.
U13s and Above: The offending player must be sent off.
(Note: There are no warnings or sin bins for this type of dangerous tackle).
🗣️ "DON'T LIFT."
Referees have full support from the League to take firm, consistent action to protect players. If anyone questions a decision, the core message is simple: Don't lift.

Windang Sharks are having a double header this weekend so if your keen to watch some senior footy hang around they play Mt Kembla at 3pm at home

Our Coal Australia Illawarra Junior League U7’s are Tackle Ready and it’s time to celebrate!

To honour the incredible effort, energy, and enthusiasm shown by the graduating Under 7s from across the region, the NRL, NSWRL, Illawarra, Group 7 and St George Illawarra Dragons are hosting a special event just for them!

All U7s teams who completed the Tackle Ready program have been invited to an unforgettable day filled with excitement, recognition, and the experience of their first game of Tackle on WIN Stadium

Training & Games: All sessions scheduled for today are canceled.
