⭐️ Saturday Superstars – GRAND FINAL: 20 years in the making ⭐️

Final match of the season: Winchelsea vs Wandana Heights at Winchelsea TC on a beautiful day with a strong crowd. Who takes it home?

A late change saw Byron out due to sickness, but the team pushed on. Kurt and Jo started strong, winning 6-2, while Adri and Josh fell 3-6.

The men went down 2-6, but the ladies responded with a 6-2 win to even things up.

Heading into the final two sets, Winchelsea led by just 1 game.

Kurt and Katrina dominated 6-1, leaving Jo and Josh needing just 1 game to secure the flag. They battled hard to win 7-6.

Winchelsea claim their first Saturday senior flag in over 20 years!
Final score: 4 sets to 2, 30 games to 23.

The celebrations followed with a great afternoon tea, as Vice President Fletcher presented the awards:

“The team deserved it… easily the best all season. This premiership means a lot as we’ve worked hard to rebuild tennis in the town.”

Towels were handed out, with Kurt named MVP for topping sets and games across the season.

Congratulations to this champion team! A huge day and a huge season — what’s next?

The are currently 2-1 against this team only losing to them once by 2 games back in round 11.

⭐️ Saturday Superstars – SEMI FINALS: Too slick, too good ⭐️

Winchelsea TC are into their first finals series in over a decade, and the team delivered a huge semi final win over Drysdale to book a spot in the Grand Final.

Kurt and Jo started strong, taking a tight opener 6-4, while Byron and Adri dropped the second 2-6.

From there it was all Winchelsea. Jo and Adri responded 6-3, and Bozz with Kurt followed up 6-2. Byron and Jo added another 6-3, before Josh stepped in for the final set, teaming with Adri to seal it 6-3.

Winchelsea def Drysdale
5 sets to 1 — 32 games to 21

Every Wednesday Night and Thursday Morning inside the Winchelsea Leisure Time Centre!

Whether you’re experienced in pickleball or you’re picking up a paddle for the first time, everyone is welcome! Just $5 a person with all equipment supplied. Come at 7pm on a Wednesday or 10am on a Thursday
