Today marks a sad day where Moonlight Garage South (formerly Moonlight Garage West) again closes its doors to relocate.

We look forward to announcing the opening of Moonlight Garage Central Coast once appropriate premises have been located. We also have exciting news of the SR86 once we reopen in NSW, but in the whirlwind of packing up there just wasn’t time to document an announcement.

In the meantime, thanks to all of the friends I’ve made (and driven with) in Vic, thanks to those who have helped out with the car or just shared a beer and/or a laugh. I hope to get one more event in Vic before the car moves north to explore new tracks.

Our CIA AE86 takes out the prized Top Toyota award (Grand champion) at Toyota Nationals 2025 ❤️❤️

(Top points scoring car over the 3 disciplines, Show n shine, motorkhana and drags)

Came 2nd in the drags (dial in time format) after some super close battles, but got done by Joey's 700hp JZ Cressida in the final.

Fastest outright in layout 2 of motorkhana

Moonlight Garage CIA 86 in its new form...

Our CIA 86 has undergone some changes over the past year. Last June, at the Canberra SDMA Hillclimb, the N/A race engine s**t the bed and threw a rod out the side of the block. The decision was made to take the car back to a turbo configuration, but keeping the 4A dream alive, and have spent the last 8 months putting together a nice strong little 4AGTE package.

Just had had the new setup tuned and achieved some great results.

271kw at 7800rpm on high boost,
238kw on low boost

It ran out of fuel supply and couldn't go any further. Need to upgrade fuel pump and FPR to get the most out of it.

It should then have another 1000rpm and more boost left to lap up.

Regardless, looking forward to hitting some tracks soon to turn some tyres
