Annual General Meeting Update – Whyalla Yacht Club
Today marks the conclusion of another highly successful Annual General Meeting (AGM), highlighting continued growth and progress at the Whyalla Yacht Club. Our membership is steadily increasing, thanks to the leadership of a dedicated and cohesive committee, as well as the tireless efforts of our valued volunteers.
With our membership now exceeding 150, we are pleased to announce the formation of new Working Groups. These groups will help distribute responsibilities more evenly, relieving the burden from individuals and enhancing collaboration across the club.
Sailing
The Sailing Group now comprises James, Jason Storr, and Steve, with Danny K providing additional support. This structure will greatly improve both communication and ex*****on of sailing-related activities.
Slipway
A dedicated Slipway Working Group has been established, led by Danny K and supported by Malcolm, Pete, Mark, and others. This team-based approach will ensure more efficient and reliable management of the slipway operations.
Bar & Kitchen
The Bar continues to be managed by Jason M and myself, with outstanding support from Sue, Leah, Eva, Ronnie, Marion, and several others.
Meanwhile, the Kitchen team has grown significantly, with Eva now managing kitchen operations full-time. She is backed by a fantastic group of volunteers whose contributions are deeply appreciated—too many to name individually without risking omission.
We Have a new Secretary after the retirement of Judy H and a new Treasurer after Anthony has moved away for work commitments, we welcome Ash and Mo to the team.
Looking ahead, the 2025–26 year promises to be one of the most exciting and productive periods in our club’s history, with numerous projects and initiatives on the horizon.
However, it is with mixed emotions that we farewell Anthony and Ryan, who have accepted job opportunities in other towns. Their contributions to the club have been greatly valued, and they will be sincerely missed.
