This week is Men’s Mental Health Week, and it’s a reminder that looking after ourselves isn’t just about staying fit, it’s also about connection, purpose, and having a place where you belong.
For so many blokes across Australia, mental health challenges are more common than we realise. Around the country, men are still far less likely to reach out for help, even though they make up the majority of mental health‑related deaths each year. That’s why strong communities matter.
At Roopena, we believe a football club is more than a game. It’s mateship. It’s routine. It’s showing up for each other. It’s having a reason to get out of the house, have a laugh, and feel part of something bigger.
If you or someone you know is looking for connection, purpose, or just a good bunch of people to be around, our doors are always open. Whether you play, volunteer, coach, run water, helping around the club rooms or simply come for a chat, you’re part of the family.
Let’s keep checking in on our mates, having real conversations, and reminding each other that it’s okay to talk.
