Mulgrave Cricket Club Established 1905 The Mulgrave Cricket Club was established in 1905 and is a proud member of the Eastern Cricket Association (ECA).

Our 1st XI compete in Wright Shield , and currently hold the record for the most consecutive premierships which was achieved during the seasons 2002/03-2006/07, at the Dunstan Shield level, the highest grade in the ECA. The Mulgrave Cricket Club is one of the strongest and most successful cricket clubs in the ECA. We promote a fun and safe environment for all players and their families, as well as

providing sensational training and social facilities which are available to hire for private functions. We are always looking for new players and past to come down and have a go so if you are interested in becoming a member of the club, please contact us via the details listed below.

Congratulations to our Junior cricketers for their accolades at the ISEC Awards night last week!

Xhenul Mallawa Arachchige in U13, alongside Noah Traplin, Archie Lay & Ethan Young from U17, all capped off outstanding seasons with trophies on the night.

In addition, Mulgrave Juniors claimed the 'Spirit of Cricket' award for the way in which we conducted season 2025/2026.

As we reflect on the 205/26 season, we want to congratulate Joe Brown and Zayn Khan for their selection in the ECA’s Wright Shield Team of the Season!

Voted by each captain in the league, the Team of the Season is a huge honour for these two players, and reflects their stellar seasons which saw both finish among the top players in the competition.

It's Tiger Time! 🐯

The good news keeps coming! We are delighted to welcome Jack Trevethan to the Club, joining after a 10-year stint for Richmond Cricket Club.

During his time at Richmond, Jack established himself as a fierce, aggressive opening bowler, playing nearly 150 games for the Tigers. Joining as a teenager, JT soon became a popular figure at Central Reserve, quickly forcing his way into the First XI as a reliable new-ball bowler.

Following a decorated career at Richmond, which saw him given the opportunity to net bowl against the Australian Test Team, JT brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that he is keen to pass on to the next generation of fast bowlers!

On top of his playing role, JT will be joining the club's coaching panel as Bowling Coach and is excited to move into the next stage of his cricketing career.

A popular figure wherever he goes, we are incredibly excited to welcome Jack and his partner Lauren to the Mulgrave Family!

JD’s coming home! 🏠

We are delighted to announce that James Dekel has agreed to a 3-year commitment, marking his return to Mulgrave Reserve!

JD, who played all his juniors at Mulgrave before making his First XI debut at just 14, returns after stints in Premier Cricket for Richmond, and more recently Mountain Gate, where he played a starring role for three years.

JD’s accolades include over 2,500 runs in three seasons for Mountain Gate, including a mammoth 1040 runs at an average of 80 in 2025/26. In this time, he also represented FTGDCA in Country Week, and has taken home the association batting award for three consecutive years 🥇

JD is delighted to be back at Mulgrave as the First XI makes a push for promotion in 2026/27.

OUR LEADERS 🫡

We are delighted to announce that Callum Hope and Mitch Traplin will take the reins of our First XI for season 2026/27.

Calzy enters his seventh year as First XI captain off the back of 40 wickets with the ball in 2025/26. His time as skipper has seen four finals campaigns and two grand final appearances, on top of winning the ECA T20 competition in 24/25!

Mitch steps up into the role in his second season back from Premier Cricket. On top of playing a key role with bat and ball, he brings a burst of enthusiasm and fresh ideas as he looks to develop his game further at Mully!

Both players are raring to go for 2026/27 after heartbreak in the Wright Shield Grand Final, and are hell bent on going one better next season 💪

BADGE AND HUMMER ARE LOCKED IN 🔒 🖊️

We are thrilled to announce that Mick Hancock and Tim Driscoll are back for another season at Mulgrave Reserve. Mick, son of life member Bryan Hancock, will lead us in his fourth season as Head Coach as the club continues to grow and improve under his leadership. After multiple grand final victories last year, the playing group are raring to take it to the next level under MH!

Hummer is also back for another year after a successful first year as Assistant. Having already made a huge impact on our group, we are excited to see more improvement in season 2026/27.
