We are so proud of our wonderful local community. What an amazing effort by the Westleigh Rural Fire Brigade to rally the community to such a worthwhile cause during their beloved Santa Run. They do us proud.

We add our thanks to everyone who supported this, and what better way to wish all our members and causals a safe and happy Christmas and holiday season, and look forward to seeing you on the courts soon.

❤️🚒 An incredible result for Foodbank NSW & ACT - thank you! 🎄

This morning we loaded up the truck and trailer and delivered 1,141kg of donated non-perishables to Foodbank - an extraordinary effort by our community.

That generosity will help provide 2,154 meals to individuals and families doing it tough this Christmas. To put it into perspective, this is more than last year’s 1,106kg, and every single item will make a real difference.

From all of us at Westleigh RFS, thank you for the kindness, compassion and support you’ve shown to those in need. This is community spirit at its very best ❤️🎄🚒

Its Christmas time and our Good friends at the Westleigh Rural Fire Brigade will be spreading the joy again with the beloved Santa Run this Sunday. As always they are collecting non perishable food for those who may be doing it a bit tougher this year. Amazingly our wonderful community donated enough food last year to provide over 2,000 meals. We love the Westleigh Community and we especially love the WRFB and all the community spirit that they spread this time of the year. So come on down to Ruddock Park around 1.20 Sunday and say hello to Santa and drop off any food stuffs that will help those in need.

🎄🚒 This Sunday, we’re bringing Christmas cheer to the community during the WRFB Annual Santa Run - and you can join us in spreading the love by making a difference!

As part of our Santa Run, we’ll once again be collecting non-perishable food donations for Foodbank NSW & ACT, supporting those who need it most during the festive season. Together, let’s make this a time of giving and connection for everyone.

🌟 How to Help:

When you see Santa and his crew rolling through, wave down the last vehicle and hand over your donations. Every single contribution helps, and we’re aiming to beat the 1,106kg of food (or 2,088 meals) we collected last year!

We are super excited

We have just completed installing electronic keypad access to the courts. From today, the old padlocks are gone , replaced by new, modern and convenient electronic locks.

For casual players, this means no more need to collect and return the court key from the Westleigh Service Centre. When making a booking on line for casual court hire, you will receive a unique, single use code that will provide access to the court for the duration of your court hire. For permanent bookings, again upon payment of your court hire you will receive a code which will apply for your on-going booking.

And to make life even simpler, the court lights are now fully automated and will be turned on by a light sensor when required and when any of the the courts are booked. The lights will automatically turn off 10 minutes after the last booking for the evening. This will avoid the unnecessary lighting of the courts when not in use as use to be the case.

How to use the new system

1. Gate Code Assignment: Your unique Gate Code is assigned to you and can be found on the receipt emailed to you upon completing your payment.

2. Permanent Gate Code: Your Gate Code remains constant for all bookings. Please make a note of it and keep it in a secure place for easy access when arriving at the courts for any reservation.

3. Access Times: The Gate Code allows you to open the gate only during the days and times of your confirmed bookings. It will not work at any other times.

4. Ease of Use: Our Coded Gate Lock is designed for simplicity. Enter the code allocated to you on your receipt followed by #. Additionally, you'll find instructions on the actual lock of each gate for your convenience.

5 The Gates will automatically lock behind you, so no need to lock up when leaving.

6 Lights - for evening bookings, no need to access the clubhouse to activate the lights - these will now come on automatically via a light sensor.

It is important to remember that your code expires at the conclusion of each booking, so be sure to make a final check around the court to grab all your belongings before leaving the court.

We trust everyone will find the transition to the new system smooth and convenient, but please feel free to reach out if anyone has any issues. Happy Tennis Everyone

The Tennis Clinic is subsidized by the Westleigh Tennis Club Inc. The fee of $90.00 is approximately half price of similar tennis clinics held at other tennis centres.

We extend a very Happy New Year to all our members and out friends. We wish you a safe, and a happy 2023.

We are sure that everyone has been tracking the Council’s transformation of Ruddock Park with the works powering along. Due to upcoming works in the immediate vicinity of the court gates the courts will be unavailable between 9th-13th January. The Council apologises for this interruption, and we are all looking forward to enjoying the upgraded park amenities at the completion of the works programme.

What a mixed up world we all live in. Tonight we finally managed to hold our AGMs for 2020 and 2021 which where deferred on account of Covid. It was so nice to finally be able to meet with our members face to face.

Tonight's meeting had two standout highlights. Firstly, our guest speaker, Josh Adams, the Community Engagement Officer for Westleigh Rural Fire Brigade gave an enthralling recap of the Brigade's activities since they last addressed the Club at an AGM: the 2019/20 bushfires, the 2020 storms, the large 2020 Westleigh Hazard Reduction, the 2021 floods, and currently the 2022 floods and the assistance to the SES. The highlight though was the presentation of a plaque to WTC for their ongoing support of the Westleigh Brigade. Josh pointed out that the "partnership: between Westleigh's Tennis Club and its Rural Fire Brigade stretches back to the 1900's! (yes some of us are feeling a little old!!)

The Second highlight was the Club's recognition and appreciation of our long serving Secretary, Rosemary, for her 30 YEARS serving on the Committee. 30 Years!! Thank you Rosemary you are the heart and soul of the Club. We cannot thank you enough, but here's a start: Thank U. Thank U. Thank U Thank U. We encourage members to also add their congratulations to Rosemary by adding your comments to this post.

Tennis certainly proved to be a popular activities as we all navigated through the challenges of the past couple of years. The Club has from time to time be approached by players looking to join with an existing group. If any members are interested in having an additional player join, just private message us here at the page, and let us know the details and we will introduce anyone who has expressed intererst in joining a group.
