Even more special knowing Hawthorn’s 2026 Indigenous guernsey was designed by Cairns-based First Nations creative Nicole Enoch-Chatfield, of the Yirrganydji Gurabana and Nughi peoples.

The design tells a story deeply connected to our region, centred around Guyala, the white-bellied sea hawk, and represents strength, vision, protection and leadership.

Can’t wait to see the Hawks proudly wear this locally designed guernsey in their home game at Cazalys Stadium on Friday 18 September.

A pretty special connection between Hawthorn, our region and our community. 💛🤎

T20 Cairns Gold Clash is coming! 🔥🚀🏏🏉

Cazalys Stadium will play host to one of the biggest sporting events Cairns has ever seen, with the inaugural T20 Cairns Gold Clash, Footy vs Cricket, officially launched yesterday in front of players, media and community stakeholders.

Set down for Sunday, November 22, the event is an Australian first, bringing cricket royalty and footy legends together on the same field in a fast paced, entertainment led T20 showdown.

Tickets go on sale August 20, with fans able to pre-register now for early bird access at goldclash.com.au.

Vinnies FNQ Community Sleepout 😴 🏟

AFL Cairns and Cazalys Stadium are proud to once again host the Vinnies FNQ Community Sleepout on Friday 7th of August, where volunteers and fundraisers will be ‘sleeping rough’ on their cardboard patch at the stadium to raise money for those in our Cairns community who aren’t fortunate enough to have a place to call home.
