🖊️ Dressage Pencillers Wanted – Paid Positions Available 🐴

The 2026 Edwards Saddleworld IQ State Championships are looking for paid Dressage Pencillers to assist during our Dressage competitions at the Toowoomba Showgrounds.

📅 Dates Required:
Tuesday 30 June & Wednesday 1 July 2026

Whether you're an experienced penciller or have some knowledge of dressage and would like to be involved in one of Queensland's premier interschool equestrian events, we'd love to hear from you!

For the month of July get your horses first hendra vaccination done, the second vaccination is free thanks to Zoetis! If your horses vaccinations have lapsed or you've been thinking about starting them now is the perfect time.

Hendra virus (HeV) is a deadly viral disease that is transmitted from fruit bats to horses via ingestion of contaminated fruit bat urine, faeces or body fluids. Hendra virus (HeV) is still a very real threat. It causes a potentially deadly viral disease that can spread from horses to humans. When horses are not vaccinated it can delay life saving treatment as we wait for virus exclusions to be done by the biosecurity lab in order to provide treatment. Can your sick horses afford to wait?

Please note travel fees still apply for field call outs and limited travel spots will be available. Promotion only applies to horses vaccinated by Darling Downs Vets and is not a country wide promotion. To get your horses locked in please call the equine clinic on 07 4691 9001.

We are offering self care agistment at $88 per week.

Part/Full care available.

Tack/Feed rooms are available for $11 per week.

Located in Westbrook, we are only a short 15 minute drive to Toowoomba CBD and a 10 minute drive from the Toowoomba Show Grounds.

Our 2 property managers are very experienced horse personnel that live on-site so you can be comfortable knowing your horse(s) will be supervised around the clock.

Facilities available for use by our agistees include:
🐴 60 x 40 sand/rubber arena
🐴 2 x round yard
🐴 Large grassed area
🐴 Wash bay
🐴 Tack and feed rooms
🐴 Float parking

We also pride ourself on safe paddock fencing, whereby you will not see a star picket in sight.

Our resident handyman has been busy - adding a new long term shelter and improving the surface on number of our short stay shelters (fingers crossed for some more rain soon to test them out 🤞).

We are seeking to add another experienced and hardworking stable hand to our dynamic team. We are located in Wellcamp (13km out of Toowoomba) on a purpose built equine veterinary hospital featuring 22 stables and various horse yards. This facility allows us to provide a broad range of surgical services and advanced medical procedures.

Your duties will include:
* Handling horses of all ages.
* Feeding animals.
* Grooming and rugging horses.
* Cleaning stables and yards.
* Mowing lawns and spraying weeds.
* Facility maintenance (e.g. grounds keeping, fencing, repairing water troughs etc) abilities advantageous but not essential.

About You:
* Excellent horse handling skills with horses of all ages and breeds.
* Strong organisation and time management skills.
* Reliable, punctual and a strong work ethic.
* Proven experience in an equine environment.
