Although I don’t often post personal fitness achievements on this page I want to share this one.

Schmeed and I just fell into hiking a few years back started as more of a social thing and casually evolved from there. From 5-10km Sunday hikes we gradually added distance and started setting goals with trails we wanted to hit.

Yesterday we were able to finish our first attempt at the Yurrebilla Trail πŸŽ‰

Just a reminder that it’s never too late to start a new sport / hobby and work at it week by week.

Take small steps consistently and we all see progress! πŸ€—

What exercise will burn the most amount of calories? Answered! πŸ™

The main issue here is the question, why do we box exercise in the idea of the only reason for doing it is to burn calories. Even if the goal is weight-loss we have to understand planned exercise only makes up 15% to maximum 30% of our daily energy expenditure.

We need to be mindful of what we actually enjoy doing to make sure we can sustain this form of activity. πŸ”₯

Lesson number one when talking about weight-loss is how do I know how much to eat?
We need to find our maintenance calories πŸ€—

We consistently eat under maintenance? We lose weight. We consistently eat over maintenance? We gain weight.

It may be a simple principle but it can be much harder to execute, if you are having trouble shoot me a DM! πŸ’ͺ

Why are habits so important? πŸ€”
Habits form our identities, repeating the same behaviour over and over we start to have it ingrained in our head that’s who we are.

Just a reminder that even though it may be uncomfortable we are in control of choosing a different / new habit which may alter our current identity πŸ€—

For example, I am now making a new habit to create consistent content every week.
As someone who never pictured themselves in front of a camera this is a big shift in my identity and that is absolutely fine! πŸŽ‰

Might not be your usual client transformation however when these two came to me they did not enjoy the gym but they knew they wanted to get stronger. Since working with them for 6+ months we worked on creating programs they found more enjoyable alongside setting realistic goals and expectations for the future.

They are now off travelling the world and STICKING to an exercise regime all by themselves πŸ‹πŸ‘

If you hate the process how are you going to adhere to it long term? Hard to believe but attacking your goals does NOT have to be a miserable process all the time πŸ₯³

Maybe you just need a coach to support you and create a structured program you can adhere to?
