Motivation isn’t just something you do or do not have. Motivation is something you can create and sustain.
First start with healthy eating and sleeping choices to give your body and brain the necessary energy to get you through the task or day.
Next, write down and be clear about WHAT it is you want to achieve. When our minds are unclear, it can be hard to maintain motivation.
The most important step is to ask yourself WHY you want to achieve a particular task or goal. Try link it to something meaningful – something that aligns with your values and life’s purpose. (For example: you might want to lose weight so that you can be a healthier version of yourself for your family and children). A reason like this is important because we love and care for our families and want to avoid any health issues. The most recent research proves that emotion which is tied to a reason like this will act as the fuel that motivates you during the harder moments. Such as difficulty getting out of bed to exercise on a cold winter morning.
Take it a step further and identify any tools or strategies you can use right now to best serve your good habits and to cultivate new knowledge. A visual aid, an app, a checklist.
When a task seems too big and daunting, break it down into smaller, more achievable chunks.
Most of all, never give up! Train your motivation like a muscle. One step at a time. And one good habit at time.
YOU GOT THIS!!!
