Extra mental health session added for Officer Module at WALGA's 2026 Local Government Convention! The Future of Focus: Attention, Stress and Wellbeing in Tomorrow’s World

Lauren Hancock is an experienced Psychologist with a diverse background, having worked across a range of industries, including healthcare, resources, local government, education, and non-profit sectors.

In a world where our attention is constantly being pulled in different directions, the ability to regulate where we focus is becoming increasingly important. This practical and engaging session explores the relationship between attention, stress and well-being, and how being more present can benefit us both at work and at home.

Participants will learn simple, evidence-informed strategies to better manage their attention, reduce the impact of everyday stress and be more intentional about where they direct their focus in tomorrow’s increasingly distracted world.
