Results from this weekend

Chris finished top 10 at Central Coast Run Fest 10k and 1st in age group in 37:45 which was a hard tempo run not all out effort today.

Harry raced a 5000m track race in Sydney last night at Treloar Shield to finish 2nd in Open Men with a stellar 14:57 to smash his PB as he builds towards Nationals All Schools 3000m race in mid December in Victoria.

We had two athletes compete in the State 3000m championships last Saturday at E.S Marks field.

Chris Quick broke through the 10 minute barrier running 9:56.75 for a 7 second PB.

Harry McClusky ran a 10 second PB by finishing 5th in the C race in 8:35.22

Well done to both athletes.

Great run this morning by Micah who broke the 2min barrier to win the 17yr boys 800m at CIS carnival. New PB by over 3seconds as well - 1:59.86

Good Evening
This year the club is exploring the idea of having young athletes becme junior coaches who will be mentored by our senior coaches.

A junior coach will be given a small number of athletes to coach each week under the guidance of the senior coach (me). This program is ultimately looking to shape the future of the clubs coaching ranks by introducing coaching to our junior athletes who will eventually/hopefully become our clubs Senior Coaches.
If you or someone you know is interested in becoming one of Gosfords junior coaches please contact me. Coaching areas are available in the distance events, sprints, jumps and throws.

I am told that Junior coaches that are accepted into the program will get theor own shirt labelled with "Junior"Coach.

As a guide, ages for junior coaches is 13 and up.

A disappointing result but a learning lesson for Josh Ireland in the Open Mens 800m heats tonight at the State Champs. He was DQ due to crossing over early but about half a metre (before the bottles) at the 100m mark. No official time recorded but I had him at 2:05.30 which is not far off his PB and quite consistent running with his last 3 runs being 2:06, 2:04 and an unofficial 2:05.

Day 3 of the NSW State Junior Championships.
Tahlia Lucas - 3rd in 2000m Steeplechase in her first attempt at the event and is off to Nationals.
Harry McClusky - 2nd in 2000m Steeplechase in his first attempt at the event and qualifies to run in this event at Nationals.
Josh Ireland - 800m new PB by running 2:04.79 to finish 3rd in his timed final and 11th overall.
Toby Way - 800m finished just outside his PB but a season best performance for him.

Day 2 of the NSW State Junior Champs
Toby Way - 400m - 6th in a new PB 1:13 then had to back up 15minutes later to run the 1500m for a season best 5:34. He still has the 800m tomorrow
Tahlia Lucas - 1500m - 11th and has the steeple and 800m tomorrow.
Other events
Down in the apple isle, Laura set a new PB running 2:48 in her club championships 800m.
