🎣 The 2026 Salmon Showdown – Members Only

This year the club is changing it up and running a full two‑month salmon competition! The 2026 Salmon Showdown will run from the 1st of March to the 30th of April, and all anglers entering must be paid, active club members before submitting any fish.

📸 All salmon must be measured on the official Shimano brag mat from last year’s Snapper Comp, with measurements taken from the tip of the head to the tail fork. If you don’t have one, there are still some leftover Shimano brag mats available at Geographe Tackle & Camping.

When submitting a fish, anglers must send one clear photo showing the fish laid out on the brag mat with the fork‑length measurement visible, and your name must be written on the brag mat in the photo. The photo must clearly show both the fish and the exact measurement — unclear or blurry images will not be accepted. All photos must be sent to the club mobile number: 0447 657 387.

🎣 Anglers may submit a maximum of three salmon during the entire competition. Fish must be submitted on the day of the catch, and once a fish is submitted, it counts toward your three entries and cannot be replaced or withdrawn. All entries must be receivedbefore April 30th.

🎣 Please note: If you catch a salmon during this competition, the species can be ticked off toward your end‑of‑year list — however, no weight will be recorded for the fish. If you would like an official weight attached to your salmon for the yearly leaderboard, you’ll need to catch one either during the Light Game Comp in April or the May Comp.

📍 Fishing boundaries extend from the Bunbury Marina in the north down to Black Point in the south/east, and all salmon must be caught within these boundaries for entries to be valid.

🏆 Prizes will be awarded for the 1st biggest salmon, 2nd biggest salmon, and a Mystery Length prize.Traditional age categories will not apply for this event — all ages are combined, with everyone competing together for 1st and 2nd place.

All prizes will be presented at the competition event in May, with prize details to be announced soon.

🎣 Be sure to head into l 2 Oceans Tackle, Whitey’s Tackle, or Geographe Tackle & Camping to grab some new lures or gear — then get out fishing and have some fun!

🙏 A huge thank you to 2 Oceans Tackle and Living the Dream Eyewear for sponsoring some of the prizes for this year’s Salmon Showdown. Your support is greatly appreciated
