🏆 Congratulations William Byers! 🏆

We are delighted to congratulate 16-year-old member William Byers on his outstanding performance at the South Australian Inclusive Open, held at Sandy Creek Golf Club on 9–10 July.

William won the Standing 1 Sport Class title on countback and was also the Overall Runner-Up in the Men's Stableford competition.

These impressive results have elevated William to No. 1 in Australia and No. 7 in the world in the Under-21 Stableford in the World Rankings for Golfers with a Disability.

PENNANT UPDATE

Both our Men’s and Women’s teams will be competing in finals this weekend.

Following a convincing win over Kooyonga on Monday 20 April, our Women’s Cleek 1 team has progressed through to the Final, where they will take on Blackwood at Aston Hills this Monday.

Our Men’s B2 team also recorded a hard-fought win over table leaders West Lakes to secure their place in the Semi Final against Highercombe this Sunday 26 April at Mount Osmond.

Our Junior Division 2 team narrowly missed out on finals, but still enjoyed a very solid season, recording four halved matches, two losses and one win to finish fifth and retain their place in Division 2. It was great experience for our juniors, many of whom were having their first taste of match play golf. Special thanks go to Justin and Julie Byers for their tireless efforts in managing the team, which is certainly no easy task.

Our Hickory Team also had an excellent season in the Eagle pool, finishing top of their pool with three wins and a draw. This earned them a semi-final against Thaxted Park from the Birdie pool. Although they were defeated, the experience of playing finals will no doubt prove invaluable heading into the 2027 season.

PENNANT UPDATE

With semifinal spots still within reach for both our Men’s and Junior teams, this Sunday’s matches will be crucial and should make for a very exciting day at Flagstaff Hill and The Vines.

Meanwhile, after a convincing win on Monday, our Women’s Cleek 1 team has secured a place in next Monday’s Semi Final and will enjoy home advantage against Kooyonga.

With only one or two minor rounds remaining before the knockout stage, all three of our pennant teams are still firmly in the hunt for finals action. A fantastic effort by everyone involved. 👏

Our Men's B2 team have certainly looked the part this season in their new Sporte Leisure shirts, shorts and hats.

This has only been possible thanks to the very generous support of member Stephen Holt and his business, Sky Duct Cleaning.

WOMEN’S OPENING DAY
Tuesday 31 March marked the start of the Women’s 2026/27 season with our Opening Day Step Away Ambrose Competition.

It was fantastic to see the new season underway, and with 18 new members already signed up this year, women’s golf is booming at Westward Ho! 🏌️‍♀️⛳️👊

Mixed performances on Sunday and Monday led to a win for the Men (4 wins out of 4 and top of the table!), a draw for the Juniors and a defeat for the Women.

Men's B2 - Defeated Mount Osmond 6 - 1 at The Pat
Women's Cleek 1 - Lost to Royal Adelaide 4.5 - 0.5 at West Lakes
Junior Div 2 - Drew 2.5 - 2.5 vs The Vines at Kooyonga
