We have been unable to get a replacement weekend at Elmore before the end of the season to rerun our postponed show BUT Tatura Park had an event cancel which we have managed to secure. New dates for Sun n Surf will be Friday 24th-Sunday 26th April. There will be some changes made to the program now we are back to 3 days & subject to AQHA approval of course. April weather will be much more pleasant as we attempt to move away from January February dates. We will keep you posted!

All refunds have been processed for those who have confirmed banking details, please allow a couple of days for the funds to clear. There are a few other competitors who need to confirm bank details for refunds to be issued, please provide details on via the jot form sent from Jackie. Thank you to the competitors contacting us to voice their concerns. With this in mind we have decided to postpone Sun n Surf to a later date. Jackie will email all those that have already entered for bank details for the refunds & we will work on a new date to ensure this show still goes ahead. We regret any inconvenience caused & assure you this decision to postpone wasn’t made lightly. At the end of the day showing is supposed to be fun & horses & humans must come first.

We are still keeping an eye on the weather forecast & with entries closing today we need to make a decision. The bureau of meteorology only goes up to Saturday so far with 35° Friday & 39° Saturday. It’s not only the temperature that’s the issue, it’s the winds & locations of our competitors with recent fires making people nervous to leave their farms & other animals in these conditions. As a club we need to make the best decision for our competitors & helpers. Also keeping in mind the show is all organised & with a full program over 2.5 days it would be almost impossible to even do it in a night program if we needed to work around the heat of the day as a Plan B. If we do need to postpone we will still run on another available date & if you are planning on entering today please get the through to Jackie.

The weather for our show looks pretty damn hot in the long range forecast for next week. We’re not clueless & realise no show is worth going ahead in those temperatures BUT we live in Victoria where the weather will change 64 times between now & then so we are monitoring this. From 40° to 18° is still possible 😝
