Such sad news today on the passing of Reg Cleland OAM.
Reg has made such a huge impact on the equestrian sport , across so many disciplines and organisations.

Our thoughts are with his wife Fran , and their family at this sad time

Equestrian Victoria are deeply saddened by the news that Reg Cleland OAM has passed away earlier today.

It cannot be overstated the enormous contribution Reg has made to Equestrian sport over many decades. Reg was instrumental in the establishment of the EFA (Equestrian Federation of Australia) and the State Branches back in the early nineties, and also led the original negotiations that secured Werribee Park as the home of Equestrian sport in Victoria, among so many other achievements too numerous to list.

We take this time to reflect on the wonderful life of a man who gave his heart and soul to the sport of Equestrian and dedicated his entire life to the sport in so many ways, and send our love to his wife Fran and all of her family.

Werribee Pony Club DC has been busy the last couple of weeks helping again flag and number the Melbourne International 3 Day Event Cross County course 🙌
Cross country now completed ✔️- it’s was hands on deck everywhere today for pack up !

Tamika C SLAYING the team work at the Central Zone of Pony Club Games Flat Musical Pairs Day!!
Thanks to the crew at Woodlands Pony Club for taking on Tamika as part of the W Crew 💪!
Tamika was part of the Musical Team of 4, in fun Clown Suit, the team taking out the win with Indy!
Tamika then swapped onto the games pony Courage, with the team WINNING every race for the team to win a clean sweep to the State Games!

Wow, so excited we are working with Southern Equestrian Eventing Direct for their first ODE Winter series!

Reminder for our Grade 1&2 riders ~ we are running the highers grades at the PODIUM EQUESTRIAN WERRIBEE PONY CLUB HORSE TRIALS 2026 In September at the Pony Club Olympics!
But we are looking forward to seeing our grassroots riders in Winter 🥶first!

Event 2 ~ Saturday July 4th
Event 3 ~ Saturday July 18th

Illoura Downs 2026 Pony Club Victoria State Horse Trial Championships & Interzone Teams !
Well done to Laila and Annabelle who smashed it at the weekend at the State Horse Trials!
Laili & Devonte WON 🥇the Off The Track for the Grade 3 Section! Placed 5th Individually! AND 🥉 in the John Barlee Perpetual Team Shield! Super effort for this duo 💪!
Annabelle & Its Overcast had a super weekend flying around the challenging Grade 1 Course! They did an amazing job and bothe made it around safely finishing in 10th place overall! And 🥉 in the John Barlee Perpetual Team Shield!
We are so pleased both riders were part of the 🥉placing John Barlee shield, he was such an asset to the PCV movement.
Cross Country on Sunday was a little wet underfoot, and a tough course, and to both make it home safely is a fabulous effort! We are so proud of you both!
Thanks to Colac Pony Club for hosting this year, it was a fantastic event!!!
Thanks to Off The Track the supporting the riders for taking Thoroughbreds onto their next journey!
