The Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre joins the equestrian community in mourning the passing of Reg Cleland.

Reg's vision, leadership and tireless dedication played a pivotal role in establishing Werribee Park as the home of equestrian sport in Victoria. His contribution to our sport and its future generations cannot be overstated.

We extend our sincere condolences to Fran, his family and all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.

Reg's legacy will continue to be felt throughout the equestrian community for many years to come.

Equestrian Victoria are deeply saddened by the news that Reg Cleland OAM has passed away earlier today.

It cannot be overstated the enormous contribution Reg has made to Equestrian sport over many decades. Reg was instrumental in the establishment of the EFA (Equestrian Federation of Australia) and the State Branches back in the early nineties, and also led the original negotiations that secured Werribee Park as the home of Equestrian sport in Victoria, among so many other achievements too numerous to list.

We take this time to reflect on the wonderful life of a man who gave his heart and soul to the sport of Equestrian and dedicated his entire life to the sport in so many ways, and send our love to his wife Fran and all of her family.

🐎✨ Congratulations to the winners of the Completely Equine Trot Up, marking the official commencement of the 2026 4CYTE Melbourne International 3 Day Event.

After months of preparation, competition gets underway tomorrow. The team at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre would like to wish all competitors, owners, grooms, officials, volunteers and supporters the very best for a successful and enjoyable event.

We look forward to an exciting few days of world-class eventing and welcoming everyone to Werribee Park for this prestigious international event.

We’re looking forward to welcoming competitors and spectators to the 2026 4CYTE Melbourne International 3 Day Event at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre.

In just a few weeks, the venue will be buzzing with activity as preparations ramp up for one of the most prestigious events on our calendar. From world-class competition to the incredible atmosphere that makes this event so special, there’s plenty to look forward to.

We can’t wait to see Werribee come to life once again for this iconic celebration of equestrian sport.

Exciting things are coming to Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre!

With the 2026 Winter Grassroots Eventing Series coming to Werribee on Saturday 20th June, 4th July & 18th July, this exciting new series hosted by Werribee Pony Club is the perfect opportunity to ride around the same Polo Fields used for the CCI levels, but in a smaller and more relaxed competition environment without the big atmosphere. Ideal for young or green horses and riders looking to build confidence before the spring season begins.

We’re also excited to see Southern Equestrian Eventing Direct bringing a Grade 6 course, designed by Stanley Cross Country, to Werribee for the very first time — a huge milestone for both the venue and the eventing community!

Get ready to secure your spot — entries open on 15th May, now only 2 days away!

We’re thrilled to be welcoming the 2026 Horseland Australian Interschool Championships to Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre! 🐎✨

Over 500 riders, four incredible days, and the best young equestrian talent from across the country — it’s going to be an unforgettable event. We can’t wait to see Werribee Park come alive with the energy and excitement of interschool competition.

🐎 We’re looking forward to welcoming Whittlesea Plenty Valley Dressage Club and Victorian Dressage Club to Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre in a couple of weeks’ time for their May dressage competitions.

Day 1 of the Jumping Victoria State Titles is officially underway, with the first rounds already in action 🙌

It’s shaping up to be a fantastic weekend of competition, and we invite everyone to come along and enjoy the excitement. Spectators are very welcome, and entry is free!

📅 Competition continues from 8:00am on both Saturday and Sunday – don’t miss it!

Make a day of it – there are food and drinks available to purchase on site, so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the action ringside ☕🥪
