2026 South Pacific Open Snooker Wrap up
Another outstanding weekend of snooker has concluded at Club Marconi, showcasing the very best of our sport in a first-class venue.
A sincere thank you to our host and major supporter, Club Marconi (https://www.clubmarconi.com.au/) for their continued commitment to snooker in New South Wales. Their exceptional facilities, hospitality, and support make them one of the premier venues for cue sports in Australia. We also extend our appreciation to the Marconi Snooker Association, particularly Vittorio Sacco, for their ongoing dedication to the game.
Congratulations to our finalists, Hassan Kerde and Alan McCarthy, who produced a high-quality final worthy of the South Pacific Championship title. Hassan claimed his third South Pacific Open Snooker Championship with another commanding performance, displaying his trademark flamboyant attacking style throughout the tournament.
Hassan didn’t have it all his own way with several 3-2 wins along the way including an amazing win over Vinnie Calabrese in the semi-final from 2 nil down. Alan had a great run to the final playing some great solid and constituent snooker, however twinged his back in the final and Hassan was able to capitalise and take out a solid 4-1 victory
Hassan’s scoring throughout the championship was exceptional having a string of breaks including 3 century breaks with back to back 100’s in round 3

The 122 and 113 breaks were among the finest breaks seen at Club Marconi.
However the Highest Break went to Shaun Dalitz of 124.
The event attracted a strong field of 84 players, with competitors travelling from across metropolitan Sydney and regional New South Wales. We thank all players for their continued support and commitment to the sport.
A special mention goes to Saim Siddiqui who took out the No 1 Seed Shaun Dalitz in the Last 32 with a very solid and consistent performance.
Finally, a huge thank you to our referees, tournament officials, and streaming team, particularly Alan Coutie, whose efforts helped make the championship another great success.
