Yes, ecokit™ is leaving Facebook. 😲 Why?

Early this year we have started a thorough review of our marketing efforts. We measured, collected and analysed data. We also discussed our philosophy and how we feel about the growing disconnection with this platform.

You can read about our thought process and why we made this somewhat controversial decision in the article below.

At this stage, we are keeping our presence on other social media platforms but they also will be reviewed and reconsidered.

Homes we 💘 / Barwon House by Auhaus Architecture

This home in Barwon Head features strong geometric lines and rich fittings giving it the perfect minimalistic design. The architects amplified the light and space of this home by exaggerating the height of the roof, creating cathedral ceilings.

A lot of builders will tell you the cost to build a house in terms of dollars per square metre. They simply take the total cost of the build and divide it by the total floorspace of the home, excluding the land. Also for a large number of consumers it seems the key focus is simply cost per square metre.

However, many good builders will confirm such calculations make no sense. There are lots of factors that affect how much it costs to build a house.

The ratio of walls and floor area is one of the factors. This illustration shows that two homes with the same floor area can have very different area of the exterior walls. This means the cost of those two homes will also vary. By a whopping 44% actually!

Homes we 💘 / Wooden Barn by

This wooden barn looks tiny with its 35 sqm floorplan, but it has such a modern, homey feel. The biggest surprise is that the main structure was built in only 2 WEEKS and from the photos, it seems there were no shortcuts - everything seems pretty solid and thought-through.

Homes we 💘 / Résidence la Frangine by

Located just a short walk from the Stoneham Tourism Station, the Frangine is an add-on to a ski chalet. The architectural challenge was to conserve the existing cottage and design a second self-contained building connected to it. Like a big sister, the new section watches over the smaller. She gently clings to her through a glass passage that lets the light get into the heart of the residence.

Distinct barn shape of this house of the year 2021 by is something that you can't stop admiring. Kudos to the studio de.materia for pulling this project off after 5 years of intense work. Combination of timber details and large format windows make these apartments super cozy 🏠🤗
