It all comes down to this.

Our Div 4 Gold side takes on Guild tomorrow in the GBA Seniors Grand Final after a great win last weekend!

The players have put together a massive season and earned their shot at the winning it all, now it’s time to finish the job.

🔵🟡 GBA PRELIM FINALS! 🟡🔵

Two Deakin teams. Two massive games. One win away from a Grand Final!

After strong Semi Final wins last weekend, both Div 4 Gold and Div 3 Gold are back in action today at Pioneer Park with a spot in next weekend’s Grand Final on the line.

⚾ 11:00am – Div 4 Gold vs Titans

⚾ 1:30pm – Div 3 Gold vs Saints

Get down to Pioneer Park, get around the players and help make some noise as both teams fight to keep their seasons alive!

🔥 SEMI FINAL SATURDAY AT DEAKIN! 🔥

Three games. Three do-or-die Semi Finals. Win and it’s onto the Preliminary Final next weekend!

⚾ 10:00am – Div 3
It’s an all-Deakin clash to start the day, with Gold hosting Blue. Plenty of bragging rights on the line, but more importantly, a spot in the Prelim!

⚾ 12:30pm – Div 4 Gold
Our Div 4 Gold side takes on Corio in another massive elimination clash.

⚾ 3:00pm – Div 2
The day finishes with Div 2 taking on Bellarine, with the winner moving one step closer to the Grand Final.

A special milestone in the final game as Lionel “Line Drive” Sexton plays his 50th game for Deakin! A much-loved figure around the club and a great club person, congratulations Lionel! 🔵🟡

🍔 Canteen and bar open all day, so get down to Deakin Uni, make some noise and help create a huge home-ground atmosphere for all three teams.

🏆⚾ TWO GRAND FINALS. TWO PREMIERSHIPS. WHAT A WEEKEND FOR OUR JUNIORS! ⚾🏆

An incredible weekend for Deakin Baseball, with both our U17s and U12s crowned Grand Final winners!

🏆 U17s – PREMIERS
Our U17s produced their best baseball when it mattered most, defeating the East Belmont Saints 8–1 on Friday night in front of a huge crowd.

Made up of players from Deakin and Lara, this combined side came together brilliantly throughout the season and continued to improve every week. They hit their peak in the Grand Final, putting together a complete team performance across the field to finish the season in the best possible way.

A massive congratulations to every player and coach involved on an outstanding season and a thoroughly deserved premiership!

🏆U12s – PREMIERS
Our U12s followed it up with a fantastic Grand Final win of their own!

Henry was outstanding on the mound and also launched an incredible inside-the-park home run, while Sam did a brilliant job closing out the game on the mound. Will and Tom were excellent behind the plate, and there were great hits, defensive plays and big moments right throughout the entire team.

Most importantly, every player contributed and played their part in an amazing team victory.

We couldn’t be prouder of both groups. Two teams that worked hard all season, backed each other in and delivered when it mattered most.

🔥 WOMEN’S SEMI FINAL! 🔥

Our Deakin Women are off to Werribee tomorrow with a spot in the Grand Final on the line!

After a massive season, it all comes down to this as the girls take on Lara/Werribee in their Semi Final.

FINAL ROUND OF SENIOR BASEBALL TODAY!!

A big final round for the club today, with finals spots on the line, our last games of the season for a couple of sides, and four huge senior milestones to celebrate.

A massive congratulations to Ryan Abbey, Phil Sage, Thomas Kerr-Chapman and Cole Trinder on reaching some pretty special milestones in Deakin colours.

🔵 RYAN ABBEY – 200 GAMES
Ryano has been playing senior baseball at Deakin since 2013 and has been an integral part of the club ever since. A multiple premiership player, he also stepped up to coach our Div 4 side in 2024/25. Reaching 200 senior games in just 13 seasons is a massive achievement and a great reflection of the commitment he has shown to the club over that time.

🟡 PHIL SAGE – 150 GAMES
Phil joined Deakin in 2014 after coming down to play baseball alongside his kids and thankfully for us, he never left. He gives absolutely everything every time he takes the field, and anyone who has seen Phil run the bases knows there is never anything less than 110% effort! A member of our 2019 C Grade Premiership side, Phil now reaches a brilliant 150 senior games for the club.

🔵 THOMAS KERR-CHAPMAN – 100 GAMES
Our current Div 1 coach, Chappy first played senior baseball for Deakin back in 2010 as a star pitcher before heading to Melbourne in 2013. He returned home to the club in 2024 and has quickly become a huge part of where Deakin is heading, both on and off the field. A much-loved figure around the club and someone who has played a big part in our continued growth, it’s great to see Chappy reach 100 senior games.

🟡 COLE TRINDER – 100 GAMES
Tinder arrived in 2021 as our Canadian import who had never played baseball before. Coming from an ice hockey background, he has gone on to become a mainstay of our third side over the past six seasons. A 2022 C Grade Premiership player, hitting award winner and someone who can get under the opposition’s skin whether he’s playing or simply watching from the sidelines with his famous "His rattled" call, Tinder now racks up 100 senior games.

Congratulations to all of you on great achievements and enjoy your games out on the fields today!!

🏆 GRAND FINAL WEEKEND! 🏆

A massive weekend for our Deakin juniors with two teams playing for premierships!

🔥 TONIGHT – U17 GRAND FINAL
Our U17s take to the field tonight looking to finish off another great season and bring home the flag.

🔥 TOMORROW – U12 GRAND FINAL
Then tomorrow it’s the U12s’ turn as they play for the premiership after earning their spot in the big one last weekend.

Two Grand Finals. Two chances to bring some trophies back to Deakin.

Let’s get as many Deakin people around both teams as we can and give the kids plenty of support!

Today we also celebrate 10 years since our 2016 A Grade Premiership, while welcoming back past players, families and friends for our Past Players Day!

Best of luck once again to more of our talented young Deakin stars representing the GBA in the Under 13s State Winter Championships this weekend!

Deakin is represented by players Elwood Mangan, Finn Davies, Will Flynn and Henry Galtry! Also a shoutout to Renee Mangan (EO) and Tara Flynn (Scorer) who will be helping them.

Good luck to all, have a great time and have lots of fun. We're so proud as a club to have so many bright and talented young players and supportive families!
