🚨 Join Us for the Steve Cooper Barefoot Bowls Fundraiser! 🚨

On Monday afternoon, 23rd September, Steve Cooper of Bonny Hills community suffered a seizure while at home. He was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle where he was found to have a large bleed on the brain. He remains in hospital under the care of medical staff.

Steve and wife Amanda are involved in many parts of our local community through Bonny Hills RFS, Camden Haven Little Athletics, Camden Haven Netball Club, Middle Rock Mariners Baseball Club, and North Haven Public School.

Let’s come together to raise vital funds for this young family, helping with ongoing medical expenses as Steve continues his recovery. Every contribution will go directly to assisting Steve, Amanda, and their children during this difficult time.

Event Details:
📅 Date: Saturday, 2nd November 2024
⏰ Time: Bowls from 5 PM to 6:30 PM
📍 Location: North Haven Bowling Club, 1 Woodford Road, North Haven, NSW
• Registration: Opens at 4 PM
• Teams: 3 people per team, $30 per team
• Activities: 100 Club, Raffle, auction and presentation after bowls
• Cash Only: For all payments on the day (bowls, raffle, auction, 100 club)

2024 season ended with another disappointing grand final wash out.

Hastings Association presentation on Sunday, of the 6 awards handed out, Pirates earned 3.

B Grade batting – Will Howard Snr, hitting 660
B Grade Fielding – Mark Ready fielding 1000

A Grade fielding – Nathan Thorpe, fielding 1000
Congratulations guys.

Both teams headed straight to the Hastings Hotel for lunch and a drink (or 5) to celebrate

Pirates were gearing up for a big day, with both A & B teams in the grand final.

B Grade had a great year, winning 10, 2 losses and 1 draw.
Will Howard Snr, batting 660, with 16 RBI’s, 20 runs, 13 single base and 5 doubles, no BB and no K’s.
Dennis, a close second, 620 and 23 RBI’s, 23 runs, 15 singles and 7 doubles.

The whole team batted consistently every week.

Wayne Garland pitched 21 innings, 24 strikeouts, 6 walks, 17 earned runs. ERA 7.28
Adam pitched 29 innings, 29 strikeouts, 16 walks, 42 earned runs. ERA 13.03

Our fielding made our wins easy. Every player showed commitment to the team.

Great to see the new players (from cricket) settling into the team and really making their mark. Getting used to catching with a mit (and getting more than one bat in a game). Just need to bring more over to enjoy the best game of all.

A Grade finished 3rd this year but made it to the grand final again. Pumped and ready to reverse last years result.

Brett Tait hitting 2 (recorded) HR’s, (should have been more).

Gavin hitting 520, 14 RBI’s
Clint hitting 420, 10 RBI’s
Lachlan also 420 4 RBI’s.

Nathan Thorpe, fielding 1000, with 17 put outs and 18 assists.

Lachlan pitched 38 innings, 27 strikeouts, 20 walks, 8 HPB, 34 runs. ERA 5.18

Lock in 2025.

With Pirates B Grade being minor premiers and going straight into the grand final, it was a great day at the ballpark today.
A Grade held Giants to 4-1 to secure a place in next Sundays grand final.
Lachlan pitched 3 innings, 1 run, 3 strikeouts, 2 walks, 1 HPB.
Gavin backing up with 3 innings, 0 runs, 3 strikeouts, 1 walk and 1 HPB.
Pirates scoring 1 run each in the 1st and 3rd innings, and 2 in 5th. Great team fielding by Pirates, taking out the lead runners in 4 of the outs.
Brett Tait was the best with the bat, hitting 3 from 3 at bats, Brian 2 hits and Lachlan, Brad, Brett D and Marc all 1 hit each.
After the game, it was back to the HASTINGS HOTEL for a well-earned cold one.
Bring the family for a great day of baseball next Sunday.
