Junior Grand Finals Day !!

After being washed out last Saturday our Doubles section 20 had a chance to take the court today.

And they did so with style, winning the Premiership today vs Epping.

Great day of tennis from both teams

Congratulations to Holly, Hugo, Jasper, Josh and Jacob along with the expert guidance throughout the season from team manager Scott

Special thanks for Jasper for driving back from holiday to ensure we had a team

An extra special thanks to Jacob - who unfortunately dislocated his knee halfway thru the season and has had to undergo several surgeries....but was still a regular supporter each week cheering on the team.

Sadly Jacob and Mum Allyson, who have been involved at the club for a number of years are moving to NSW next year so we wish them all the best

Thanks to Tom for cooking the BBQ today

A big thanks to our Junior Coordinator Adam for organising another successful season for the club

It's that time of the year again.....the Club's Annual Xmas party

Changed to a Saturday afternoon this year

*Grand opening of the facility upgrades
* Santa
* Giant raffle
* Player of the season
*Sausage sizzle provided - for all other food and drinks BYO
* more, more more

Hamper Basket will be in the Clubhouse - please feel free to donate some prizes for the raffle into it

**Update on Junior Finals, Monday mixed and lights**

On Saturday we had 3 junior teams playing Grand Finals.

All the teams put up a great performance, but unfortunately we finished with 3 runners up.

Nevertheless congratulations to all teams who had a great season

BOYS 4 - Levi, Matthais, Mitch, Harry and Stephan

GIRLS 2 - Mia, Matia, Lily and Sienna

MIXED 21 - Holly, Hugo, Charles, Josh and Jacob

MONDAY NIGHT MIXED brought home the premiership however - On a drama filled night where we discovered a problem with our lights if courts 5 and 6 go on - it blacks out the club.

The match was transferred at late notice but that didn't bother our crew as they took out the match comfortably

As mentioned above there is a problem with the lights at the moment. It is being looked at and hopefully rectified soon

If the booking sheet shows they are closed off then it isn't fixed yet. Check the booking sheet

JUNIOR SEMI FINALS, MONDAY MIXED AND CLUB UPDATE

Today saw our Juniors playing Semi Finals. All the teams made finals which is a great result for the club.

BOYS 4 - Just keep ticking along winning ...its always close but today won 5 sets to 3 on their way thru to the Grand Final

GIRLS 2 - Yet Another very solid season for the Girls. Thru to the Grand Final yet again by winning another close one on games thanks to the calmness of Lily and Sienna to get the job done

BOYS 12 - Unlucky not to be in the Big Dance next week. We're 4 sets to nothing down early, then won the next 3 sets and almost won the last set in what would have been a massive comeback. Great season boys

MIXED DOUBLES 21 - Travelled to Epping today as the underdogs but went there full of confidence. This confidence saw a 4 sets to nothing victory pushing them into the Grand Final next week also

MONDAY NIGHT MIXED - Playing the Grand Final at home on Monday.....good luck !!

CLUB WORKS UPDATE - As inevitable with building works there has been a delay. Outside pathways work is complete, inside is a bit behind schedule. Anticipated finish is hopefully 2nd week of July

Hi Everyone

Just a quick update.

The Front gate is back in use. Please stick to the paths when walking thru as the grassed areas have been seeded to grow.

Clubhouse still unavailable for use as inside building works have commenced

Book a Court is back in use for court bookings

Come down, have a hit and look at what's happened so far

**Also competition entries for next season (Spring 2024) will be due soon. Please keep a look out for entry forms.

Hi All

Kenny arrived today to drop off a portaloo to use as a temporary toilet with the clubhouse being a construction zone and out of action

Please ensure the toilet is used appropriately and kept clean

As with most builds, there has been a minor setback with tree root problems. The Council and builders will work thru to achieve the best result for the Club.

We apologise for any inconvenience to anyone over this period, but we are also quite sure there is an understanding and appreciation of the benefit to the Club of what is happening

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS ANYONE WITHOUT AUTHORITY PERMITTED TO ENTER THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE

Hi Everyone

Things are happening!!

See video for instructions as to entering courts. Parking is also available on Elder st

For the weekends, Book a Court is up and running daytime only. Book as per usual and follow the instructions

For weekdays afternoon/nights the gate will be open from around 3.30pm until 10.00pm (unless no one is there)

Lights will be activated free of charge over this period

Courts are set aside for coaching and competition as per required.

With the Book a Court being a nightmare to run under these circumstances any court not being used for Coaching or Competition is available for members to use.

We ask that a "Fair Play" common sense rule is in operation over this time. If all courts are full please share with others

ie. Turn up to play, share courts with others if need be to avoid "Court hogging"

Temporary toilet facilities will be installed as soon as possible

We apologise for any inconvenience to anyone over this period, but we are also quite sure there is an understanding and appreciation of the benefit to the Club of what is happening

Another fantastic day at the Xmas Party.

Congratulations to our Junior player of the season winners Levi Weis, Matia Donohue and Mia Colosimo.

Thanks again for our girls Section 2 premiers who ran the raffle again, and prepared all of Santa's gifts.

Congratulations to our major raffle winner Pippa...hope you enjoy the all the goodies.

Great to see everyone having a go in wheelchairs and playing against Greg Bakopoulos and others. The Club upgrades will happen soon !!!

I think everyone had a go at the Lobster ball machine...it remains undefeated

And the biggest hit of the day was Santa !! Thanks Santa
