A sloppy 235kg High Bar Squat for my second squat session this week. Technique wise... probably one of my worse singles. It’s still a 5kg High Bar PB on my 2nd week into my strength/powerlifting block so I’ll take it as a small win 🤷‍♂️🙄 DBS Barbell boys on the spot and ultimate team play Australian Powerlifting Union - APU

The return (of sorts) of DBS!

Want to embarrass your friends and family by aligning yourself to a gym with no real location, real plan, or any reason for existing? I thought so. If you are thinking about competing this year, we're working on it so you can compete under the DBS team.

To me, I'm deeply grateful that, despite the passage of time, we are all still a team. We still all rant on group chats, and we are still all train heavy. We are still family.

We'll likely have coaches/handlers at meets - so if you are coming into the sport from a non-PL gym, its a pretty good opportunity to be part of a community.

Rumour is some heavy hitters may come back to the platform.

There has even been rumours of a DBS gym opening again in a new location (in the mid-term, not short)

Moved like a dream. This concludes my powerlifting program. I immediately switched to my bodybuilding ( I’ll still compound lift for hypertrophy though) program after this which was 1000x harder already🖕🏿

I'm stoked about this mainly because my technique held up for once at 95%+ weights which it usually doesn't, small wins✌️😬.

My focus and attention now has certaintly moved over to improving my health and fitness (Physique) but I committed to finishing off my existing powerlifting program before I switch over to a bodybuilding program so hopefully y'all will get to see me lift some heavy things here still.

Considering I had more booze than water the last two days, I was too scared to weigh myself but I'm guessing low 70s (kg)

SO I have a problem... I simply can’t get used to these 0.88inch heels (vs 0.75inch, I know, it’s only 0.13 of an inch, but every tenth of an inch counts🙄) when squatting, particularly low bar.

Do I;
a) Stick it out, they’ll be sweet after a few more sessions.
b) Buy a new pair of Romaleos 2s which we’re great.
c) Buy Romaleos 3s
d) Build a titanium foot grab lock jaw that launches me into 350kg+ squat territory.

My bad! I have been VERY absent on social media, I LOVE sharing what goes on in my world with you guys so sorry about that 😥

I have been quietly rocking away with life and prioritising the joys outside of lifting but I'm going to commit to keeping you guys updated (again)

In any case! In under two weeks I'll be allowed back as a , I'll be competing very early October (a month from now) and I'm going to be aiming for via the following lifts:
-
➡️High Bar Squat
➡️Close Grip Bench Press (much closer than my regular competition grip)
➡️Pleb (conventional) deadlift

Wish me luck! will be a 2018 goal for me 🤞

I NEARLY passed out several times trying this😅

Two months ago as was closing I set myself the goal to pause deadlift 250kg / 550lb.
-
Today, I finally hit that. 🤤💪🏼This represents a 25kg PB from when I worked up to as heavy as I could go 3rd July.
-
Also hit 227.5kg / 500lb for 8 and fives before this just to cook myself.

Testing out the new Reebok Legacy Lifters!

The heel height floats around 0.88inches (0.75inches) which frankly make them feel a little awkward squatting in.

I'll give them a few more cracks over the coming weeks and keep you guys updated on how I go!
