THE NEXT STEP
In a few weeks I am going to take a different direction with contest preparation where I will conduct seminars guiding participants to write their own training programmes specific to their needs.
When developing a training programme, I use a few different approaches dependant on the client’s needs.
In the seminar, I will be picking one system using my own templates and providing stage by stage guidance how it is done and why. By the end of the seminar, the goal is that all participants will write their own training programme supervised by myself and have a full understanding how it is done so that they may write their own personal programmes or use this technique for their clients. This is a case of teaching others how to fish rather then give them a fish to eat.
It is a very effective way of training and was definitely one of my advantages in competing, so much so, that I never had a competitive bodybuilder as a training partner in 22 years of living in Australia.
26 years ago I had my first contest prep client whom I took all the way to win his first nationals. Possibly I was one of the first who kicked off the contest prep business. I am hoping that this is the beginning of a new era where through my seminars I will pass on my knowledge and help others to be able to be creative with structuring their programmes.
Everyone who loves lifting weights is welcomed, we are all on the same journey called learning.
