FROM AN IDEA TO THE WORLD STAGE 🇦🇺🇺🇸🇨🇦
The Cinch International Australian Bronc Match was founded in 2024 by three good mates — Jake Finlay, Damian Brennan and Tom Webster — with an idea sparked over a few beers: how cool would it be to bring some of the world’s best bronc riders from America and Canada to Australia and see how they stack up against our own elite Aussie athletes?
Well… that conversation became a reality. The first Bronc Match was held in Scone, NSW, in 2024, and what started as an idea is now beginning to make waves both here in Australia and overseas.
Jake, Damo and Tom aren’t the first Aussie bronc riders to cross the pond and chase the dream — but they’re helping create the kind of opportunities that can make some young bush cowboy (from Tumut to Tooloombilla and everywhere in between) believe that anything is possible and there is a career in the sport. This event wouldn’t exist without the incredible network behind it — from Eddie Gill and Gill Brothers Rodeo, our families, mates, sponsors and supporters here in Australia, to our international partners including Cinch International, Rorey Lemmel Buckers and professional rodeo announcers (Garret Yerigan & Garrison Panzer) who continue to get behind what we’re building.
A massive thank you also goes to the Warwick Rodeo & Show Society for welcoming us and providing the opportunity to showcase the Bronc Match as their Saturday night feature event.
