The last race on the weekend and we brought her home in 14th which was enough to claim the round win in the masters category.

Also a big well done to the old boy Allan for getting a pb time this weekend. Any faster and he'll be on my bumper soon!

Race 1, brought her home in 12th so overall it's a good result.
I also showed everyone in pit lane that the mighty Excels can be driven on 3 wheels.
Unfortunately half-way around the track on the in lap, my left rear wheel hub snapped in two and sent my wheel on a little trip away from the car. Bye bye!
All fixed now, race 2 coming up shortly!

There should be a picture of an Excel under "Drama" in the dictionary!

Unfortunately we had a bit of a disturbed qualifying due to a roll-over (driver is ok) and got caught in some traffic so we only managed 1 flying lap, which placed us in lucky 13th!
The car feels fantastic so I know there's a lot more that she can give.

Race 4, started 9th, finished 6th (after a penalty to another car, but again, I'm happy to take it!)
After a few more adjustments/fixes, the car felt a bit better and I could sort of trust it to do what I wanted. We kept it clean and consistent and brought her home straight!
To top off the weekend, I managed to grab 1st overall for the Masters category and the old boy Allan Halstead nabbed an award too for his awesome efforts over the weekend!

Race 3, started 14th, finished 9th (due to some DNFs, but I'll take it!)
First lap, I needed to take the beach route to avoid some carnage and in doing so my rear wheel picked up a heap of sand, so for about 14 laps, I had the worst wheel wobble I have ever felt. Luckily it eventually came unstuck and I finished the last couple of laps without my personal massage chair 🤣.

Started 10th, finished 14th. Unfortunately the gearbox gremlins are still with us. I think we just have to nurse it home for this next race and might look at replacing the box afterwards 🤷‍♂️. That's racing I guess.
