Walsh Farming

Walsh Farming I am a cricket enthusiast and played for two clubs Greymare and Wheatvale. This page is to highlight Greymare Cricket

We won premierships at Wheatvale and Greymare won the Warwick A-grade competition in 1968-1969 when I was still at boarding school.

Anyone wanting agistment for a horse or a few horses on a property west of Warwick.
Lots of grass after the rain but the tracks in the paddock have been slashed. Horses can run through long grass no worry but us people love a slashed track.
Selling some 18 month steers and heifers iin Warwick tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Warwick Saleyards.
Market not great although seems cattle 18 months old will sell better than 6-8 month old calves. Veal has taken a real hit in recent months.
Rain usually makes the market dearer but reality is a lot of places in the west and south are dry. Big country this lucky country we live in.
Warwick cricket grand final on Saturday 10am, Wheatvale v Maryvale. Should be a great battle between QU19 paceman Mark Steketee and Wheatvale opener Brendan Malone.
There are three Cantwell in the Wheavale side, I played with Des, the father of two, and Leo, uncle of two and grandfather of one.
This is the west of town v east of town.

Wet weekend in Warwick. Most sport cancelled other than the shooting, even golf so it must be wet.
Showers now so flood threat should be gone, 78mm at Greymare, need to get the slasher out so we can see the tracks.
Busy with 20th anniversary sports star dinner on Saturday, as is usual for this place, everyone leaves buying tickets to the last minute.
Our number of likes is four in four days, if we keep up this rate, will have 1000 in three years. Richmond and Roosters will win premierships by then.

Still raining in Warwick, the biggest worry is for farmers trying to harvest crops. Seems like there has been more rain further west.
The grain will shoot, even if they can get on the paddocks.

It is almost that time of the year again, not ready to back the Broncos and Lions yet for premierships.
Could it be the year of the Roosters and Tigers.

You wouldn't call them favourites but good luck to the Warwick Cowboys, Water Rats, Redbacks and Wolves. Just typed Water Rates instead of Rats, no one will have high water rates if it keeps raining.

Great season in Warwick, want to sell 40 Brahman Cows and Calves but market not great.
Market usually goes up after rain but there are places out west and down south which are very dry.
