🚨 Have you ‘Favourited’ the Emergency Alert number (+61 444 444 444) yet?

With Tropical Cyclone Alfred predicted to get closer to the coast throughout the week, we are reminding everyone not to block the Emergency Alert number and save it to your contacts.

‼️ Emergency Alert text messages are sent to everyone within a certain geographical location during emergencies and disasters.

Residents are urged to:
Update your phone settings to list this number as a favourite.
Save it as a contact so you know who is messaging you.
Check you have not blocked the number accidentally.

These texts contain potentially life-saving information that includes advice on how to take action to protect you and your loved ones.

Ok it's time to get serious! *Please share & tag to family & friends so that they know what is coming* All forecast data currently has Tropical Cyclone Alfred crossing the SEQLD / NENSW coast with most saying a category 2 strength ATM. The current coastal crossing track margins are from Rainbow Beach to Byron Bay with the greater Brisbane area favoured - this may change yet so staying UPDATED is very important. From Wednesday onwards widespread severe impacts are likely with the system (especially across the Southern half) ranging from destructive winds, extreme rainfall up to 1000mm causing flash flooding with minor to major river and creek flooding. 7 meter swell with much higher peak waves causing significant beach damage and erosion along with inundation of low lying foreshore areas especially on high tides. Please be prepared not scared!
HSC subscribers your info will ramp up even further from tomorrow with daily video forecasts plus a second very high detailed zoomed in track & intensity map with coastal crossing and many towns listed. A high risk flood map will be issued, plus the weekly and daily rainfall maps. Live updates and warnings get sent to email and mobile app notifications.
