Happy New Year everyone, especially to our members, players and supporters! We're looking forward to another great year of pickleball sessions, coaching, and new players.

Just a reminder that regular sessions start again on:
Wednesday 7th at 6pm for experienced players - please note this session is not suitable for beginners
Friday 9th at 9am for less mobile players - beginners welcome
Sunday 11th at 2.30pm for social play all levels -beginners welcome

Our final Wednesday session for 2025 with nearly a full house, some terrific games and lots of Christmas goodies to share. We handed out some tongue-in-cheek awards for Fast Feet, Super Sledging, Slice and Dice, and Responsible Dinking - you get the idea! Our President Doug Wilson was awarded the SDPA Perpetual Trophy for this year for his consistent support and work for the club over several years - thanks Doug! Final Friday and Sunday sessions are coming up. Good to see sponsor Chris Donaldson back with us as well as 9 Stanthorpe players joining us for the session.

All the best to our players who are heading to the Sunshine Coast Pickleball Open this weekend - Alan, Clayton, Vicki and Jan - hope you have great matches and a great time!

Our regular sessions are Sundays 2.30pm - 5pm, Fridays 9 -11.00am and Wednesdays at 6 - 8.00pm - give us a call to check which session best suits you. Visitors from other clubs and locations are welcome!

A great coaching day with Karen Topp, helping 16 of our members refine their play and work better together as playing partners. Thanks to Karen for coming up our way and withstanding the very cold morning - still only 2deg at 8.30am brrrr!

In the light of ratings discussions this is an interesting read!

Players overestimating their ability is not unique to pickleball – although there are certain aspects of pickleball that make this phenomenon more common in the game.

28 cheerful players enjoyed a round robin and Christmas snacks for our final official playing session of the year. Various non-serious awards were presented with the SDPA Perpetual Trophy going to David Lawler for his ongoing and very regular contribution to our club - thanks Dave!
