At the Two Four Two’s Day, Slave got up on behalf of the Queensland Railway Institute and complimented the Warwick Bowls Club members for their part in hosting the three days of bowls competition.

The feedback from the QRI members was very good, saying that it will be hard to top when they have their next big event in Townsville next year.

I can only say that these people must have either worked very hard in the railway or they built up a lot of stamina waiting for the next train.

HOPE WINS AGAIN

Two Four Two’s Day sponsored by Hope Legal - Warwick was good except for the gusty conditions. Three rounds of 10 ends in the 2-4-2 pairs format was great to play.
The pies, peas, mashed potato and gravy went down well, thanks to the ladies and the bar staff who were on hand to help wash it down.

🏁 Neil Hope presented the prizes and somehow the winners with the highest score were Dave Scotney and Clark Davidson. 👏👏

Runners-up were Wendy Nerney and Jim Rickard.
Consolation prizes went to Max Balfour and Barry Perks, Slave and Marion Skaines and team mischief, Faye Flint, Pat Seipelt/Caroline Phillips.

🦅 We might have to seek some legal advice about Dave Russell being beaten by his wife, Helen 31 to 2. Absolutely disgusting, but at least he got dinner I hope. Jimmy Lamb told me he was just so good along with Helen and he couldn’t do a thing wrong. He will probably be in big demand now however the price of lamb is up. 😁

☘️ Lucky raffle winners were Chris Stower (fruit& veg), Chris Stower (Charchy’s $50 voucher), Slave (complimentary game voucher) and Fay Wright (box of chocolates).

MORE THAN A MYSTERY

On Saturday, we had 20 competitors at Mystery Bowls sponsored by Clark Davidson and Dave Scotney. Two games of 2-4-2 pairs were played with the highest total score taking home the cash.

🏁 Dave Scotney with Marion Skaines down the other end were a force to be reckoned with, getting 31 points and winning the cash. Congratulations to them and all the other players. 👏👏

🍫 Ray Allen was generous enough to give out blocks of chocolates for touching the jack. Faye Flint, Dave Scotney, Cathy Best, Barry Best, Geoff Davis and Dave Russell quickly pulled that off when the bell was rung. Thanks Ray.

☘️ Dave Russell was lucky enough to win the $25 in the raffle as well as being a good toucher. 😜

It was hard to get out on the warm green after the ladies supplied us with a great afternoon tea. Thankyou cooks and bar staff.
