Due to the unavailability of many committee members, the third mountain bike race of the Cranky Thunder series has been POSTPONED BY ONE WEEK from Friday 6 December to Friday 13 December.

This decision has also been made given the possibility of adverse weather, including thunderstorms, forecast for 6 December.

THUNDER POINT UPDATE
This post provides an update on the Thunder Point trails to explain why WMTBC is currently unable to conduct events there.

Trimming of the vegetation on the sides of the trails is required in many locations to ensure safe riding, but our previous licence to enable this has expired. Hence, we have had to apply both to the Warrnambool City Council for a planning permit and to the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action for a permit pursuant to the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act. WMTBC cannot trim the vegetation adjacent to the trails until these permits are granted.

The club wishes all members and riders a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and looks forward to again running events some time in 2024 as soon as, and assuming that, the permits are granted.
