South West Academy of Sport The home of developing, emerging, and talented athletes in south west Victoria.

SWAS seeks to provide services to emerging athletes that support them in their sporting pathway. These services include;

- Athlete Education (Sport Psychology, Nutrition, Sports Integrity, Injury Prevention and Rehab
- Sport Science (musculoskeletal screenings with aligned fitness programming, fitness testing)
- Exercise Physiology (strength and conditioning)
- Opportunities via an integrated net

work with sporting associations, institutes and academies
- Access to elite coaching opportunities
- Athlete mentoring and support

Congratulations to Eli Kerr and Sophie Ryan, SWAS - APEX athletes who competed at the 2026 Australian Swimming Trials in Sydney.

Sophie delivered a strong performance in the 50 metre backstroke, setting a personal best! She loved being around Olympic swimmers and soaking up the atmosphere of a national meet, gaining motivation for the future.

Eli delivered a series of strong performances across multiple events, consistently showing great results. His swims reflected the hard work and dedication he has been putting into training!

SWAS is incredibly proud of our APEX athletes Eli and Sophie. We cannot wait to watch Eli and Sophie excel within the APEX program, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve next!

The SWAS - APEX Program is designed to support athletes striving to grow, improve and pursue their sporting goals. Through access to guidance, development opportunities and athlete support, APEX helps athletes continue building toward success both in sport and beyond.

Applications remain open year round for state and national level athletes.

Big congratulations to the U13 and U15 Warrnambool City Netball Association athletes on a brilliant season and well deserved results!

Well done to SWAS athletes, Daisy Martin, Madison Finnigan, Chloe Kermeen and Emelia Kelly, who all played in the U15 Grand Final.
