The Warrnambool event offers a 3km walk and 7km run. EVENT HISTORY:
Since 1998, the Mother’s Day Classic has united a nationwide community of participants starting their Mother’s Day wi

th purpose by walking or running while raising vital funds for breast cancer research. For the last 25 years the MDC community have been racing towards a day where no woman diagnosed with breast cancer is filled with dread and fear. Through research we have made great progress towards that day - since the Mother’s Day Classic began the relative 5 year survival for those diagnosed with breast cancer has risen from 84% to 92% - but there’s still more to be done. The 5 year survival rate for a woman diagnosed with ovarian cancer is currently 49% and there is no early detection test. Every day in Australia 9 women die from breast cancer. When you add ovarian cancer that number goes to 12 deaths every day. One death is too many. In 2024, we are asking the community to come together to walk or run and accelerate progress towards a day where every woman diagnosed with either breast or ovarian cancer will be given the assurance that they can survive. The AWESOME crew at Beach Kiosk + Cafe Warrnambool supported Warrnambool's Mother's Day Classic by donating $1 from every coffee sold today.

It came in at a massive 615 coffees, but they are generously donating $650-00!!!!!!

💕🏃‍♀️ 2026 Warrnambool Mother’s Day Classic - Course Layouts 🏃‍♂️💕

Thanks to our awesome committee member Emma for once again setting the courses for this year’s event.

The report is that the 7km run and 3km walk courses are looking great.

On the day, look out for the chalk directions along the course, and our friendly marshals.
