Warrnambool being represented at the Strathfield Gateball Invitational in Sydney. Our beginner team came third.

The Warrnambool Association Croquet Summer Tournament was played on 14th and 15th January 2026. It was disappointing that Division 1 and 2 had to be cancelled due to players withdrawing but Division 3 and 4 were well attended and enjoyed by all. We had windy weather, with only a little rain.
Division 3 had six competitors and congratulations to the winner, Karyn-Camille King from Williamstown with 4 wins 31 net hoops and Julie Love from Brighton runners up with 4 wins 2 net hoops. This was KK’s first tournament in Division 3 so it was a great result for her.
Division 4 had four competitors. Janelle Morris from Belmont won with 5 wins 33 net hoops and John Sambell from Warrnambool was runners up with 5 wins 25 net hoops.
We had 16 people on Wednesday night, attend the dinner at the City Bowls Club for a lovely meal and great conversation.
Well done to all players.
Thank you to all the helpers that assisted in the kitchen, setting up the courts and supplied delicious food and a huge thank you to Ian for being our referee.

Congratulations to the Warrnambool/Woodville Gateball team (Geoff, Cheryl, Judy, Val and David) for winning the Terang Gateball teams tournament. They were very close games. The winner was decided with a shoot out.
Cheryl and Geoff won the doubles and Leah and Robert were runners up.
Well done to all the players.

What a fabulous weekend for Warrnambool Gateball.
Cheryl’s team won the Queensland State Teams Gateball Championships at Caloundra and played in the semi final for the Doubles.
So exciting. Wonderful venue and lovely people.
Her awesome teammates were Philip, Geoff, Peter and Julia.
