Ivan Platenik has signed as the 2027 Venom Championship Men - Head Coach

Freshly retired as an absolute legend of the Big V, Ivan brings a wealth of lived experience. His leadership and insights will be key building blocks of the Venom’s winning culture well into the future. We look forward to the work he does over the 2026/27 BigV season

Congratulations to all our Venom Rep teams who qualified and participated in finals last week!!

Particularly 3 of our Boys teams who are through to the next round!

With the U18.1 Boys playing in a Prelim Final tonight against Eltham to fight for a spot in the Grand Final we wish you the very best 💪🏼

At 42, Ivan Platenik was still matching it with players half his age. Now, he calls time on an incredible Big V playing career. 🙌

A player, teammate, mentor and father whose legacy goes far beyond the numbers.

2026/27 VJBL TRYOUTS ARE HERE

Tryouts for our Junior Representative teams are just around the corner and we can’t wait to see you there!!

All session will be held at Warrandyte Sports Complex - 36 Drysdale Rd, Warrandyte

Important notes:
• Pre-registration via PlayHQ is compulsory (link in bio)
• All players must wear their full ‘domestic’ uniform.
• Be early for your session. (please do NOT bring a basketball).
• No parents will be allowed inside the stadium
• WBA Locals who request a PTT do NOT attend Session #1, but instead, attend Session #2: WBA Externals ($55).
• Session #2: WBA External players who are ultimately selected in a Venom team, will have the $55 deducted from their season registration fee.

Saturday night the Champ Men play their final game of the season against Wyndham in fight for finals

Sunday our Champ Women play their final game of the season at HOME, so be sure to get down to Mullum Mullum Stadium to support them 🙌🏼
