The 2025/26 season came to an official close last week, with the holding of WCC's Annual General Meeting (AGM)

We had a season full of success, both on and off the field, and all our Members and Volunteers should be very proud.

Preparation now underway for next season, and at the AGM, we elected the following Committee:

Some huge and exciting news heading into the weekend!

The club is thrilled to announce that Ayrton Dehmel “AJ” will captain the 1st XI for the 2026/27 season.

A homegrown talent and elite performer, AJ takes over the reins from Honie, leading a hugely talented group eager to build on last season’s premiership success and continue driving the club forward.

We also want to extend a massive thank you and congratulations to Honie for his outstanding leadership and everything he and the team achieved last season, putting the club in a fantastic position for the year ahead.

Congratulations again to AJ, we can’t wait to see what he achieves in the role!

This week is Volunteer Recognition Week, and we want to say a huge thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who help make our club what it is.

From coaches, scorers and team managers, to committee members and everyone working behind the scenes — community cricket simply does not happen without volunteers.

Your time, effort and dedication create opportunities for players of all ages and help make WCC such a special club.
