Let's Ride is a national junior riding program designed by Cycling Australia (CA) to be a fun learning experience for kids. The program teaches them to ride safely by developing their knowledge, skills and confidence - giving parents peace of mind. It's a six-week after-school program, held on school grounds. During school holidays, Let's Ride will also operate as a two-day program and will cost $

120. Let's Ride is split into three levels, or 'gears': 1st Gear, 2nd Gear and 3rd Gear. The program is also supported by a suite of learning materials to reinforce the key message learnt during the program, including a progression tracker, at-home skills and worksheets. Once registered in a program through school, parents can track their training online, as well as helping them learn to ride outside of school hours, with the information found on the website. For more information, visit the Let's Ride website and create an account for your child and see what schools are hosting a program near you.

Think bike-riding has nothing to do with Science? Think again!

To celebrate National Science Week, check out our "Ride for Life" cross-curricular activities that bring the bike into the classroom through the Science curriculum and who you would be interested in accessing these resources for FREE.

The science-based unit has been developed for students in years 3 and 4 and allows students to relate their understanding of forces applied when riding a bicycle to experiments on motion, friction and the use of gears!

Check out cycling.org.au/curriculum for more information.
