It’s been at least 24hrs since we have had a shoot to attend and some of us are keen to keep shooting.
Good thing we are hosting the next Branch G event.
It’s an indoor event.
It’s 60 arrows.
It’s this Sunday.
Don’t worry about the weather.
It’s indoors.

It was a small turnout for this year’s IFAA State Championships but those that went got to shoot in some of the best archery terrain our state has to offer.
Thanks Geelong Trophy Bowhunters you did it brilliantly.
Our branch managed to field eleven competitors with five being from our club.
We did well, and a few medals are coming back over the Westgate with us.
Congratulations and well done to all that had a crack.

The archery shenanigans continued this weekend with a Branch IFAA field round at Bairnsdale Field Archers.
Seven WGFA folk took part. Of the seven, some enjoyed it and some others wished they had stayed in bed🫣🤣
Either way it is shooting arrows so it’s good (except for when it’s not😉).
Next weekend is the State Titles for this type of field archery and I think it is safe to say we will be represented.

Great job at Indoor last night. About 35 members attended for some practice and a mini working bee. Targets made for our Branch Indoor next month and a few extra for club night use. Thanks everyone.

3DAAA at Mornington Peninsula Bowmen this weekend. Brilliantly set courses (as per usual) and great shooting weather made for a fantastic weekend for our contingent of shooters. Alan, Jack, Jacob, Jim, Mark and Tim all either won or placed in their respective divisions. Jacob and Mark picked up a “100” pin each for shooting a clean 100 during the course of the weekend.
Jacob also won a ten target novelty event after the official Saturday rounds.
I’m fairly certain that both Jack and Jacob set some records for high scores , but I could have also made that bit up…
I dunno, I wasn’t really listening when that was being mentioned.
All in all, and as stated, it was a great weekend put on by the fine folk at Mornington Peninsula Bowmen.

Next weekend is a branch IFAA shoot at
Bairnsdale Field Archers.

Second half of May through to mid June is chock full of archery events.
In 3DAAA world we have a shoot at Mornington Peninsula Bowmen on the weekend of the 23rd/24th then the following weekend,from an ABA perspective, we have a branch IFAA event at Bairnsdale Field Archers.
The weekend after that is the State IFAA Titles hosted by Geelong Trophy Bowhunters.
Then the week after that is another branch shoot being an indoor IFAA at ours!!🥵

IFAA Hunter Round at Boola Valley Field Archers took place today in some very “trying at times “ conditions.
Everyone was enjoying the day until the heavens opened up. Then only two or three people were enjoying it.
Jacob was one who didn’t enjoy it…

Vale Paul Vandenbelt.

Paul’s long battle came to an end this morning. He is now off fishing and if they’re not biting he’ll be making a long bow of some description.
Paul and his family have been heavily involved with West Gippsland Field Archers for many years. Paul will be sincerely missed.
The Members of WGFA would like to express their condolences to Sherry, Tim, Matt, Brad and James.

IFAA Hunter round is coming up in a couple of weeks. It’s a great chance to shoot a hunter round before the IFAA State Titles in June at Geelong.
